Mine did this and I put a piece of rubber from a old exhaust rubber into the center of the rear exhaust hanger, kind of wedged it in. Bit if a bodge tbh but its been in months and stopped it.

cable ties round the mount works, bodge but who cares when its under the car.

Ok so now the exhaust is beginning to bed in quite well. It's getting very bassy at the moment. To the point that people can hear me approaching my house now. Unsure if I may put on a small silencer or not?

On the discolouration front, I washed the car last night and AutoSol'd the exhaust and this morning it still looks nice and shiny. So maybe the first few times it goes brown? Hmmm

Yeah its not cool. At the lights its pretty shameful, but under normal driving (obviously) cannot be heard. Nothing to do with the exhaust, its the stupid bolt that is on the bumper.

Big Eck are you lowered? Only saying cos your interested in the exhaust. But on lowered LCRs where the catback crosses over the rear beam, there is a high chance that it could rub. This is what we noticed when it was being fitted. But atm there is no rear beam vibrations at all (and im quite low), a little bit unsure why it hasnt rubbed yet as there was very little clearence.

I'm still at standard height but planning on lowering the car in the future. Not gonna go stupidly low tho.

Bret my LCR is lowered a further 20mm and I have no vibration or rattle on the subframe. Oh and btw I told you they were loud! Did u get the resonated system and sports cat?

Alright Tim yeh mine is -30mm from standard but as yet still no rubbing. Will let you know bout the diffuser mate.

Well mine is non resonated and non baffled. Sounds really good atm

Ok so the exhaust has now been on the car 300 miles and seems to be bedding in quite well. At first on tick over and pull away it was very burbly but had a tinny ness to it. This tinny sound seems to of disappeared.

The discolouring issue seems to be short lived too as once I used AutoSol on it the gold never really returned as quick or as dark.

The power aspect seems to be improving too, feels a lot more sprightly 3rd gear and upwards. The bark I can defo still feel (under drivers seat strangely).

The rattling bolt issue will be sorted ASAP as I can hear it still on tickover.

So as I said, it's only been 300 miles but the sound seems to be evening out a lot more. The ECU seems to realise there is a different exhaust on there now, but as I have the 3" TIP and forthcoming big FMIC I better not leave it too long before I go stage 2 as I'm asking too much of the car with so much efficient air/gasses going through a generic stage 1 map.

I will also add that there is a slight drone now from the exhaust from 40-60 in high gears but this is to be expected.

Will update when I've done 1000 miles and stage 2 power.

Good to hear your updates and that your car/ecu responds well on the new exhaust. I found out the Leon has good sound isolation. If you want to hear your exhaust even more, fold down your backseat, believe me !

Noobie question: what is meant with tick over?

Do you have uprated or standard rods??? I would have thought stage 2 would take you over the 300lbft mark.

No I have standard. But my car has always pulled low torque but high bhp figures. It was how James @ JBS mapped it for me. Hence the healthy clutch

The more and more I'm reading (coupled with the fact these cars are getting old now) the uprated rods seem a wise choice. But I've spent maybe 3k on the car since Xmas so we will see funds wise.

Thing is, I can uprate the rods but it's everything else that needs doing along side this. My car will never see hybrid or BT but it DOES need the foundations correct for stage 2

I was thinking of mapping the car again once I get the exhaust but have it set to not go over the 300lbft mark. I don't really give the car much abuse so hopefully it'll be ok.

Just received my resonated cobra exhaust today, also brought 3" Decat from ebay but the downpipe has a dent in it, will it be ok the dent or just get it replace?
