Ok, so before anyone says anything, I have searched for this!

Last week my car (1.8T Cupra) started running on 3 cylinders. It had been juddering under load when cold for a while so, luckily, I'd already bought a spare coil pack and had it in the boot. I replaced the dead one straight away (turned out to be #2). Ever since I did that, eevry time I start the engine it juddesr a bit and I have to pop the bonnet and push #1 coil pack back in because it keeps popping out. It lifts about an inch.

Any ideas?!?!?!

Cheers guys

I think it's down to heat build up.If you cut a small 'v' along the ribs,so that the heat can escape upwards.Try to find picture later.

that was in either golf+ or performance vw recently as it is a common problem unless you have the bolt down type.

ok, just for people who might search for this thread in the future...

it's worked :)

so, thanks guys!

no more coil popping out...

HOWEVER!... when I went out to buy the plugs this morning, my car started juddering really badly when pulling away. is ok in higher rev ranges though?!

so, although my coils are not popping out anymore, the car is still running very rough...

i think i have another coil pack going... [:@]
