Sorry for dragging this thread back up...but it seems the most applicable.
One of my coil packs - 2nd from the left, is persistant in 'popping up.'
When ever giving my car a good clean, i have now learnt to always take the engine cover off and check the coil packs, and i can guarantee the 2nd from left pack has always popped up so its touching the metal bracket thing on top.
My car drives fine - no misfiring or nothing other than it revs in between gear changes when driving it hard, but im told this is caused by a throttle body leak??! Although i cannot find one!
Anyway...that photo above of the 'v-shaped' slit cut into the rubber - does it actually work? Anyone prove this by doing it?
