Guys I know this subject crops up a fair bit..... But.
I have a leon K1 on 96k miles, thing is i want to fit coilovers but I'm at a loss as to which ones? I'm not guna track my car or anything like that but would like a good reliable set that will last, I've been quoted silly money just lately but surly there's some cheaper good quality ones around.
I want them more for cosmetic reasons more than anything else as I think the car sits a little to high and the gap around the wheel does my head in. All advice is greatly appreciated.

i've just ordered a set of prosport ones from dpm today. Will let you know how i get on next week.
But they come with a 5 year warranty so if they do fault you're covered?

Cheers mate, I don't really wanna spend a shed load of cash but I don't wana have to replace them in a few years because there fooked. How much did you pay for yours mate.

If it's just for cosmetic reasons you might be better off getting a good set of lowering springs.

£200 posted but normally 229
and i had same thoughts but they had the longest warranty , 5 years! longer than seat gave my car when it was new lol

I thought about lowering springs (H&R) but because my cars done 96k miles I've been told that lowering springs will kill my suspension????

You answered your own question in my view :) if your not tacking the car then i would just go with springs.

plus with springs you're limited to the drop. At least with coilies you can set it to youre desired level . Thats the main reason i've gone for them . As for me sportlines dont go quite low enough for me :)

Damien what are the best cheapest pair of coilovers for my cupra 2007 plate ???

:D Do you want cheap or the best? The two don't go together!

Bilstein's are probably the best - but boy they are not cheap.

KW are rate highly, but again, not cheap.

At the end of the day, you get what you pay for. I'd agree with those suggesting the OP would be well served replacing his dampers & springs, or buying a set of coilovers.

Cheers for the feedback guys. Damian I'm think around the £500 mark for a set of coilovers, any advice is welcome.

Thanks Damian, I'll have a look at those and more than likely give you a call to order some. Thanks again.
