Sorry guys, am supposed to be buying some Coilovers at the weekend, but cant decide which ones. I dont mind spending up to the price of the kw v2's, but dont want to spend more if i can get the same performance from either of the above 2 as well.

Anyone got these on their motors at present or had experiances of these? would be good to know personal opinions. I have heard a lot of good things about the KW V2's and know they are a good buy, so am swaying that way at present!

any particular reason for the suggestion? trying to justify spending the extra £200 on these compare to the others, will there be a significant difference in looks/height and handling?

FK/Konig are commonly used, but their application is usually common cars and lower end spec compared to KW
KW are stainless bodied and have a proven track record and reputation.

Cobra, purely cos ive never heard of them and from the looks they dont dictate the elevated price tag they have

Sounds like a fair enough reason then to spend the extra money then, many thanks!. One other question, the link for the KW V2's, these are the correct ones for a 53 Leon Cupra arent they? There were about 5 diff types on the site for the Leon and thought this was the right one.

I have just fitted the kwV2's and love them. Not had experience of the others mind but I would choose them again without a doubt. It is a firmer ride, but this compramise is more than made up for in the handling and composition of the car on all types of roads, even the motorways. I get much less wheel spin on the straights and coming out of corners.

An expensive choice, but well worth it.

yes!????????

not sure how'd you know like, part # are same but the LCR runs TT front suspension instead of mk4 like the LC. I've no idea

as rik say the cupra and cupra r run the same kw coilover , i got kw1 on my cupra and i would say why waste your money getting kw2 if you not going to track your car .

i was going to get weitec hicon GT, im now tempted to wait that bit longer and save for KW V1's

They are the same part numbers for all leons I think with the 1.8T engine.
They all come with the ARB connections, so you can upgrate your cupra front ARB at the same time.

I have Neuspeed front 25mm and rear 28mm and front and rear strut braces too and the handling is a dream.

As said above why get V2's over V1's?
I almost bought V3's but I'm going to track car and I have the ARB's and strutt brace done.
I'm now going for V1's then when car becomes just a track car then I'll get a spring shocker package to suit.
It really depends what you want, I can't see the point of the V2's, If you want coilovers to set up for the track then get the V3's, if you want a road going coilovers get V1's and spend the difference on top mounts, arb's and dog bone mount

I compared the 1s to the 2s to the 3s at Autosport this year and spoke to the German rep. there.

The 2s and 3s looked beefier than the 1s and KW do not make the dampers for the 1s, think Koni do, so they are a different set-up to the 2s and 3s, quality wise as well I believe.
The 3s are in a different league again and are specially hand-built completely by KW.

Overall he recommended the 2s to me for what I want. Fast road use and very occasional track use. Having said that I am not going to adjust the damping (let alone the compression of the 3s!) setting on the 2s, and he recommended I don't unless I really knew what I was doing, as they are set up very well straight from the factory.

I already had all the other suspension bits done, the coilovers were the last thing to go on, so I was not compramised on price with getting a 'suspension package' with ARBs / top mounts / strut braces / poly bushes etc...etc...

I see what your saying speedinsaxo but why pay extra for a function that you don't plan to use.
It would be very interesting to see the real differences on a track between the two.
I'm going to do a few track days as set up just now the more when V1's fitted to see the difference, would be interesting to compare the two cars on the track. I'd say a well set up system with V1's wouldn't differ much from a V2 set up.
If you can afford the V2's go for them as the should be better. I don't know you would notice the difference unless your getting the car corner weighted. I guess you won't be doing this but just setting at a ride height and getting the geometry done
