Went to go look @ a Onvi yellow mk4 1.2 yesterday. First car for my brother.

Theres laquer peel on the front of the bonnet and both front wings. Now the colour is fairly faded like most Onvi's. But how hard is it to colour match this colour. If i buy it, i will only be having the affected areas painted, Its a cheap first car so i wont be blending into the doors etc, and if its hard to colour match this colour i wont be buying it i dont think.

Advice/experience welcome

Thanks

My Ibiza is red which is faded a little and was able to get a small scrape on my bumper colour matched ok but was in a friend of my husbands bodyshop. If doing it yourself I would assume it would be much harder as most paint is water based now

no hope dude. mines just had the bonnet & front bumper painted & he tryed his best to tone the colour down for me & it still wouldnt match. although from a distance you wouldnt know, on close inspecction it stands out like a saw thumb. although i know its there so maybe it wont be so bad to people who dont know i wouldnt let them blend it as id rather have an odd coloured panel then be able to see it change colour throughout a panel. theres no bringing this colour back either. ive tried everything. once its gone its full respray time.
by the way is it that one in louth on ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2004-SEAT-IBI...3149291?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2a1226a66b

On my old lupo i had the whole side panels inc door and rear bumper resprayed. You could notice quite clearly the difference between the front wing and the bonnet. Tried to colour match and just doesn't work!

Thanks for the advice guys, As i thought...

Yea thats the one, managed to get him down to £900 if i wanted it, But think il leave it now. 127,000 miles with only one service stamp in the book was a massive negative point. The interior aswell is absoultly filthy and full of dog hairs which he's failed to mention + it needs 2 new rear tyres.
