HI all I have a yellow seat cupra and on the front panels it is faint/dull coloured than others as if the car has been parked halfway in a garage. any recommendations on the best way to restore the colour so all the paintwork matches?

cheers

Let me be blunt mate! EVERY YELLOW LEON FADES! You can't help it it happens. It's not the paint that fades its the laquer on top that goes milky and NO amount of polishing and compounding will help! If you want a mint one RESPRAY it! Sorry!
Mine is faded too!

thats fair enough just though you could bring back the colour due to the fact with older red cars I know when they fade and go pinky red you can bring the colour back but obviously not the case with yellow newer cars it wouldnt bother me so much if the whole car had equal fade, guess Il just have to rent a garage and park it the other way for a while till it blends LOL

Tbh it's both.

The lacquer is very thin on these cars and this is what causes the paint to fade under the clear.

The lacquer also goes cloudy, this is we're it starts to delaminate also

The older reds that faded and went pink actually oxidised, but there single stage colours and can be buffed back up.

G3 and a careful machine polish worked wonders on my red one, but has been said, it's a different paint.
Might be worth a try....

If you get good vinyl you can pull it off and try again if u mess up, I used to do some signage where I used to work and the stuff they had was great. I just can't afford the propper stuff atm.

Just to let you know I had a faded yellow Leon but now it's resprayed! Jealous?

I get good prices at my mates garage if you are willing to travel and be without it for a week.

Mines faded and the lacquer's peeling off, respray is the only option if I want it to look nice again.
