Condensation Inside

Last night when i got back to my car after work i noticed the inside of the windscreen was condensated is this a common thing or something i should look for thats letting it in, Also any sort of items that can reduce the amount by catching the water?

If it was raining it could be you that caused it, also it could show there is a water leak into the car also if you have air con use this all year even when the heater is on hot as it is a de humidifier.

It was dry in morning had rained during the day no signed of leaks as nothings wet inside inside, just takes its time to clear

it's that time of year again then these threads spring up! Check all your carpets are not damp and then check your pollen filter is not wet (under the glovebox watch your eyes as you will prob get a face full of leaves!). Last year I and many other had condensation or fog or when it got colder it froze on the inside of the screen a mare to sort in the morning took ages to defrost! will find a link to the silica gel bag thing we all bought later

also check the heater is not set to recirc.

I only use the recirc when im clearing the windscreen

Sorry it's pingi, it's a little penguin that absorbs moisture from the air and put in the microwave to recharge when full

My car does this. It has in the past leaked water in but it appears dry at the moment, yet it still mists up inside.

I've bought some Rain-X anti-fog glass treatment which I'm going to put on the inside of all the windows/screens and see how that goes.

boot carpet (washer hoses pooped off/leaking in) my spare wheel well had gunge in it lol not sure how/why!) check all foot wells.

Yeh the pingui thing is what I was trying to explain earlier. I bought one put it in 900watt microwave and it made the penguin pic which changes colour to tell you when it's full/absorbed faded and it stopped working think I put it in too long the guide on the pack was wrong!

My car does this but its slowly getting better. I think its down to the can of relentless which exploded in my car in the summer (only noticed what happened when I found a half empty can).

I also change my pollen filter as the thing looked like it needed it urgently. thn left the car on full blow in air con and blower and hot and cold for 30 mins.

yeh mine does it but found no wet carpets no wet pollen filter in fact just been changed, took it to the garage and they found green gunge in the spare wheel well. But it never really got cold after that so do not think this cured it as screen frozen once last Monday but only a little bit it never used to do this which is what I do not understand. Will buy another pingi thing I think!

does it also takes forever for the windscreen to clear? I have to wait like 10 minutes until I can see properly trough it....

it will take a long time if its at idle, if you drive it when you can just about see it will clear really quick

Mine is a weird one. The windscreen will mist as soon as you turn on the blower. Turn the aircon on and it will be fine and remove the issue quickly. Once its cleared the mist I can go back to the blower and it wont do it again.

Its almost like moisture builds up in the system over night. I am seeing it less and less how ever.

Mine does this too.

The only way I have found to reduce it is to turn the blower and so it is blowing the air to the floor rather than the window at night and it seems to help.

Obviously it shouldnt blow at all when the engine is off but I am sure a certain amount of air still comes through.

start driving with a fogged up windscreen perfect if you want run over someone or crash into something. I can't see anything with the windscreen covered in fog.
I even got so sick of it, I just wipe it of with a spunge...don't care if it leaves stripes.

the silly thing is, that it also coveres itself in fog when I'm driving for hours straight...
