It's not just the service issues, I complained about the painfully uncomfortable seat (which has already cost me two visits to an osteopath) which seems to put a lot of pressure on my lower back but got no joy from dealer or Seat. just got home after another 100 mile drive and my back is painfully sore, windows are wet on the inside and the speaker replaced two weeks ago has gone all crackly again !

Well I got a reply (copied below) from Seat UK and none of us have a problem as it seems it does not exist and they know nothing of it ! As others have said this will be the first and last Seat I own.

Seat UK's reply:
Thank you for your recent e-mail dated 19th March 2007 regarding your issues with water on the inside of your vehicle's windows.

Whilst I appreciate your frustration, I can confirm that this is not a known concern to SEAT UK. With regards to the postings on the Cupranet.net forums, I regret to advise that we are unable to comment on content listed on non-SEAT approved websites.

regards Chris

That is Balls!!! They are trying to deny all so they dont have to recall every car in every model! A lot of people have this problem, me as one of. I thought SEAT was 'ok with' SCN and was happy to have the forum?

That is rubbish.

Mine is so bad that I would be concerned leaving it at an airport car park for a fortnight in the outdoors for example. It is just ridiculous.

My dealer told me there was an unofficial SEAT fix which was cut the door rubbers so the water drains out when the door is shut.

I haven't had it done yet as it has been a bit difficult with my Dad dying a few weeks back and stuff.

Maybe we should all write en masse so to speak, maybe one person could co-ordinate. I would happily do that if it would help.

A sort of Petition to highlight the point. i would be up for that too, also i wonder if any of the other VAG group cars have this problem, due to same construction techniques and materials?

Sorry to hear that mate, hope all gets well after your loss.

An admin for the site would make a good point of contact for the forum and SEAT.

Thanx googies.

The water thing has really taken the pleasure out of my new Leon...plus the Dad thing too I suppose.

But my husband also got a brand new Ibiza on the same day, just a little 1.2 Sport that has had no problems whatsoever. The Leon is double the price and I think it is ridiculous that it has this problem.

Yeah it is ridiculous, total lack of process management, quality control and assurance and of design and testing of something that is very important, window id there as a barrier to the outside!!

well we asked for alot of problems to be looked at, they booked the car in for a week, i asked them to do a check over the car before i handed it over to confirm the state of the car, they called back at lunchtime saying we can have the car back as they couldnt guarentee that the car wouldnt get damaged over night, WTF, they claimed they fixed the dash rattle by relocating a cable, no change, window dampness, couldnt see any wet, it wasnt raining nor had it been for a few days, turbo solinoid, said theyd replace if it broke, not cos it made fog horn noises.

this is not the kind of service expected and needs raising, and embarassment seems to be the only way large companies do things correctly.

well I am up for joining forces on this to make Seat admit there is a design fault. I see no point in taking it to the dealer and wasting everyones time until a fix is avaliable. Although I may soon be an ex seat owner as i have a few test drives booked cos after only two months I have had enough.

So how would we go about getting a petition put together putting individual cases and proposing SEAT to acknowledge the problem? I spent ~ 45mins cleaning my windows and sills on the car today (rest of car done yesterday) then put window down on way to work and a nice covering of water on inside, bearing in mind it has been dry for last few days, only washing car is contact with water, but outside bone dry! Let the loudest "F**K**" out of me and am getting really pi**ed of with it.

Well, as said, I'm certainly happy to help co-ordinate.

Maybe we all need to write a brief letter highlighting the problem, forward them on to one person and that one person be the spokesperson when then sending them to SEAT UK, perhaps toCT Aviation's contact. That way they could see that this is not a tiny problem - although I think they know already it is a big problem, they're just waffling.

My Leon FR had the wet inside windows since I picked it up in August. Went to dealer in Nov and then again in Feb. Replaced window seals, still have the problem.

Seat customer services are utter rubbish!

Dealer reply always the same --> waiting for Seat Technical to acknowledge there is a problem.

I've run out of brick walls to bang my head against!

As SEAT customer services rightly say were not an official site, we never have been. Were also not a replacement for their customer services department or their dealer network, they should always be the official channel of contact.

We do however, have periodic contact with some of the senior personnel within SEAT UK.

If you want to collate a case book of the fault(s), in a 'constructive'* manner. I'll be happy to pass this information onto someone in management.

What SEAT do with that information is entirely up to them however. We won't press them to respond on the matter, and were not acting as a go between or watchdog. If they want to respond they will, either through us at their request or via their own customer service channels.

But I don't mind making them aware of your current problems.

*'constructive' means, laying out the facts in an informed and clear description, not ranting or swearing about something.

Thanks for the offer ZBOYD, I am sure this approach may help. the main problem is Seat's total denial that any of thier cars have this problem !
Taking it to a dealer when there is no fix avaliable is wasting everyones time so Seat need to be asked to find a fix and tell thier dealers how to cure it.
My patience is worn very thin after two contacts with Seat UK over known (well on here anyhow) issues and both times they denied knowledge of them.
I worked in the motor industry (VW/Audi) for some twenty years as a technician and we traced and cured some weird and often frustrating problems for customers, often with assistance from VAG UK or even direct from the factory, Seat seem not to offer this back up for thier customers.
I doubt if Seat retain many customers and they probably don't care that they don't. I, like others have politely asked to have a car with dry windows on the inside, I and it seems others have not had flaming rows with them (I'm not far from one though) yet get a standard reply "we know nothing of your faults".
In a way I feel sorry for the dealers trying in vein to fix what seems to be a design fault with no manufacturer support.
Anyway every one it's forecast rain tomorrow and Friday so you'll all be pleased when your 18K car gets it's factory fitted running water on the inside !

Gosh I feel better for that, I can pass details of my contact at Saet Uk with the reference No if anyone needs it.

Chris

I'm going to put a little form together now

See if we can get this information gathered better, hopefully seat might acknowledge it then!
