Confusing Warning/Alarm Noise??!!

Hi there ladies and gents,

Wondering if anyone can help with this one.

First of all my brother has invested in an IBIZA 1.2 model on a 54 plate, a very nice and nippy car for such a small engine.

When he starts the vehicle, on some occasions a strange alarm sound beeps a few times then stops, no warning lights appear on the dash and we have had it connected up to vag-com with no luck.

Any ideas as to what it is, it seems to just randomly beep for a few seconds and thats it.

Second, for those that have a 1.2 or knowledge of it, what are you all acheiving in terms of mileage on a full tank of petrol.
That would include a mix of both motorway and local driving.

look at the digital display, is the temp display flashing?

usually 4 degrees or lower?

Ive noticed in mine that it only beeps when the temp drops whilst you are driving. If you start the car when its below 4 degrees then it only flashes the display.

The temp display flashes when the temp is below 4 degrees but this alarm just sounds when you start the car at random times, its not affected by the temp, so that's what is confusing me.

there is loads on here about the 3 beeps on startup mate, do a search for "3 beeps on startup" and let us all know if you find out what it is
