Hi all,

I have a British Leon Mk3 with full LED headlights. Now I'm moving from the UK to the continent and have been told I will need to register my car there with local plates, and I'm trying to figure out how to do this.

I'll also need to do something for the rear lights: fog light needs to be exchanged with reverse light... I'm hoping that might be easier/cheaper but not so sure - does the wiring need to be changed or could the dealer do it via a software change? In any case the glass / casing of the fog light appears to be red so I guess at least the glass needs replacement there.

The big question is: does anyone have any experience doing the same changes?

Other question: does anyone know where I could get the parts for a reasonable price? If I could just find the parts (front and rear) somewhere for a reasonable price and find someone who can do it, it might be a LOT cheaper than doing it at an official dealer.... however, would it damage my warranty in any way?

Any ideas / thoughts / experiences / recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

(And allow me to add that this place looks nice, I'll be around here more... I love my car, that's why I'm not even going to contemplate selling it - this is the car I want. Besides, I'm stuck on it with financing - they do agree with me taking it to Europe as long as it's fully insured and I provide them with all the registration and insurance details).

In Europe reverse lights are white and brake lights red, signalling yellow.
All you have to do is readjust the height of the bulb, something easily done at the local dealershp.

regarding numberplates it really depends on the country...Unless you are moving to greece not much help here..

It's about left driving vs right driving. Not colors... and height cannot be adjusted AFAIK... :( But thank you for taking the time to reply anyway. ;)
