Sometimes a valve can warp/change shape due to increased engine temperatures that it's not designed to handle causing it to "stick". To be honest though mate it does sound like this garage is grasping at straws. I would take it somewhere else. Or "trade" the car.

They go ok mapped, spose it depends what sort of power you used to. A friend had a mark GTI and was a solid car.

If the engine is juddering that tells me that there is too much fuel going in which is choking the engine. I had a similar issue under load in 6th gear (I still get it slightly sometimes if I floor it before the sweet zone of the turbo in 6th).

Has your car been remapped if so who remapped it?

Nope hasn't been mapped wanted to get it done after car was fixed but wouldn't a fuel problem be shown up in the fuel consumption?

Well not exactly.

When was the last time to MAF was changed? If the MAF is severely underreading then it could be injecting more fuel in which is causing the engine to judder under load. As your turbo is small, think VNT15 it spools super early which is why your getting juddering low down.

Do you have vagcom?

As for the leak. This might be the EGR cooler which is why coolant levels are going down - did the garage check this? Are you experiencing sluggishness? This is a symptom of leaking coolant.

I think the coolant leak was prob just a leak but think its been fixed but thinking I gona have to get used to the stuttering but dad went and drove car and said I should reaaly leave it to warm up longer and blip the engine while its warming

Forgive me if I sound rude but its either fixed or it isnt. Did the garage say they fixed it 100%, I would get a full report from them as to what they actually fixed.

The fact is it shouldnt stutter full stop.

Questions we need to know to help you:

1) MAF - has this ever been changed?
2) Did the garage you took the car too run vagcom on it?
3) Did they fix the leak? Did they identify a leak?

Well the coolant leak seems to be sorted and they didn't tell me what it was but no they didn't fix it and they didn't give me any paper work to say what they've done so trying to contact the garage to get a copy of the invoice. They put it on several different diagnostic softwares, at his garage, at the diesel specialist, at the injector specialist, then bak around on them again and they couldn't find anything.

They havent given you details of the work done? Thats very worrying indeed!

To be honest it doesnt sound like they are giving you a good service or keeping you in the loop very well. The only diagnostic software they need is VCDS.

What garage is this? I recommend taking a trip down to AmD Essex in Lakeside. They are the only people I let touch my car and I am 100% sure they will fix your problem.

I would have taken it to different garage but it was under warranty so he had it done at his place but they suck for customer service as didn't get 1 phone call giving me an update and now they seem to be avoiding me as there's still a problem, only thing he can really do is give me a different car but he doesn't have anything I like and can't afford a refund

I think your going to have to put this down as bad luck and take the car to someone who knows what they are doing. It might cost you several hundred pounds to repair but at least you retain the car and have it working well in the end.

Well I can drive around it longs the coolant leak fixed it fine as not a great look breaking down middle of cambridge at rush hour to put coolant in. I can adjust my driving to minimalise the problem and get it through the next two years till I can afford something that works
