Was driving the other day and car started beeping and hit 120 so pulled over straight away and rung rac they tested temperatures of pipes and the rad etc and said was running fine prob a faulty temp sensor. I have changed the sensor and now when I drive it goes up to 90 on gauge and if I stick foot down it starts creeping up??? Any1 help doing my nut in!! Is there more than 1 temp sensor? Thanks

Most cars thermo's fail at some point, no idea about price for yopurs and it should be fairly straight forward, try in the faq bits on the home page under Mk1 Leon.:)

you can check if both of the hoses om the radiator is hot? or only one hot and the other is cold? and look at the small hose on the coolant expansion tank, can you see water coming out of it? is the fans on the radiator running?

The water pump might be ok ish but not up to full health, it's a bit tricky trying to diagnose a car over the internet but the fact the temp rises when you give it beans suggests either the thermo or water pump as a couple of good possibilities, far better than a head gasket.:)

ive got this prob on my LC, but i have coolant coming out of that thin pipe, what does this point too?

You can as the fins are working ok on tickover but when driving the car spins the pump faster and it as lost it's grip on the fins so they stop spinning, so stopping water being circulated.
