cooling syetem help

when i start my car the silloete of the car on your centre display flashes 5 times. the book says cooling system fault. any ideas!!

Does everything work in the car? I.e air con, heater etc?

Have u checked your coolant in the engine bay? Check & see if its running low?

I wouldnt drive it about if u can manage it tho

ive noticed a small water leak but the system is toped up.
not checked if heaters are working. the onle thing i noticed was the ac button was flashing.

Check your heaters & a/c tonight to see if they are working.

I had my a/c & heater blowing hot air constantly. I lost loads of coolant & it caused my car to overheat. I stopped driving it cos i didnt want the head gasket to go.

Turned out to be the fusebox that caused all the problems, Have u checked your fusebox recently? Alot of people are suffering it at the mo.

Apart from that I cant really help you im afraid. If it is the fusebox it will probably cost about £90 at a seat dealer or cheaper elsewhere.

Failing that you would probably need somone who has VAGcom or get it booked in somehwere to get looked at.

Keep checking on here tho, Im sure some of the others will probably be able to point u in the right direction
