Like the title says what are the chances??

I dont think so as it would show the model on the Registration Document

Why would you do that? They need to know exactly what you drive to be able to legally cover you?

You may as well not buy any insurance, as any claim would be rejected (any rightly so!).
Never lie on when buying insurance, as all the serious checking is done after you make a claim.

Different car but similar thing,
Whenever i ring insurance companies i have to argue the fact my cars a gti and not a gt or gte  Even the v5 says its a gti

In response to the one no im not stupid enough to do this but I was discussing this with a mate last night who reakoned you could because they look the same. But I pointed out the whole document thing to which he replied, "well a few lies oopps ive lost my documents can I have some more then reg it as a cupra." This is all on the basis of importing it to Guernsey.

Anyway this was all bought up, because there is a Cupra R for sale on autotrade and I was getting insurance quotes and they were fairly high.

Theres actualy 2 insurance groups between them, cupra is 15 and the R is 17. Just do it properly and dont run the risk of gettin arse raped if you crash.

The fact remains is that its an R and not just a Cupra......similar car but very different when it comes to insurance......not just the 180bhp and brembos, but the fact that its a rare car....

Take it Guernsey cars are still registered with DVLA????? Losing documents.......you can't just re register it as a cupra.....they don't just forget because the V5 paper has went a-stray
