Hey all,

Right first let me say that this wasn't me, what happens when you let your Dad get behind the wheel of your motor? Phone call at 5:30 this morning to let me know he hit a deer on the M40 at 75mph and the car is a "bit broken".

Essentially I am glad he is still alive if he hit in his Merc Coup it would have been through the window no doubt.

He hasn't taken photos but from what I have been told I am looking at a new front bumper, grille, and a fog light. Engine warning light on as is the low tyre pressure indicator but there is no flat. I am guessing a sensor or two have been knocked or removed as he can see wires.

It is currently locked up at Gatwick airport with no oil or other fluid leaks.

It is a Seat Altea 105 TDi CR SE. I kind of wanted a new FR/Sport front bumper but not like this. I live in Lincoln so any advice would be amazing. What I would like to do is build a list of parts and get a garage to order these in so when I do get the car back they can start work straight away and I am not left without a car for days.

Cheers,
Chris

could be:

bumper and grills
poss head lights
bonnet
crash bar
front panel
radiator
air con rad
crash sensor

hitting something that hard at that speed can do some damage

also check that the seat belt tensioners havent popped up to, where the belt plugs in

I hit a lorry tyre at 65mph, had to do the following..

- aero bumper
- front left light
- front bit that holds lights bumper etc etc

- air con tad
- normal tad
-intercooler.
-fans
-fan holders
Plus a lot of time getting it all tidy and clipped back up etc.

But you might have broken 1 or 100 things, go start stripping it down, it's easy done when you have the balls.

All the best
