Cruise control error on Dash

I've looked through the manual and can't find out what it is, but when I activate it I get an exclamation mark with a slightly different cruise control icon.

does this warrant a dealer visit? Only picked up the car on Friday.

If yes then manual says contract dealer.

Yeah I did see that one and it looks vaguely similar but at a lot higher resolution I guess? The exclamation mark is almost inside the CC symbol.

Bugger, I hope it's a quick/easy fix.

It was bugging me so I went out, started it up and flicked the stalk and no error message.. A couple of people on golf forums have had similar issues, I'll keep an eye out for now and just hope it lasts until after I drive to Cornwall the weekend after this one.

Have you got odbeleven or vcds there may be some error codes to view

I don't have VCDS or obdeleven unfortunately, I've been trying to find people in the west midlands who might be able to help me out. I really want to disable the Soundaktor, I tried too manually but I got big big hands and would rather not crack anything if I can get it done via software instead. The soundakor actually makes me feel a little ill.
