My cruise control on dash by speedo is showing exclamation mark and is not working, have I inadvertantly turned something off

Seems like I'm the only I have noticed that we all get the same knowledgeable reply from dealers,

I tend to get this every few years or so, then it magically turns itself off after the next ignition power cycle on my 2016 cupra. Having looked into it, it seems to be if the car believes there's an issue with the abs sensors so it disables your cruise control as a safety measure.

Mine did that when a TPMS warning came on. Didn't right itself until the TPMS was reset, and the fault code in the ABS module was cleared with VCDS

Scan for fault codes. This could be caused by thousands of things unfortunately
As a driver assist system, it's designed to fail safely if it has to fail at all. Ie disable itself due to faults rather than slam you into the back of another vehicle
