crunchy noise when turning on

Hey

I noticed every time I turn my car on I am getting a weird crunch noise from the back of the car, I always turn the key until the lights come on, wait a few seconds and then turn the car on,

when the lights come on so does this noise

it's probably normal but just wondering what it is

Priming?

But yeah nothing to worry about fella...if the noise ever stops, then you can start worrying.

Curious variation on this is that my wife's Polo starts priming as soon as the driver's door is opened - my old B5 Passat primes when ignition is switched on like my old VX Cav GSI 4X4 did.

my 2004 1.2 ibiza has a buzzing/humming sound constantly when the car is running - is this the fuel pump starting to die on me ?

i posted a larger blurb outlinging the problem in a seperate thread too if anyone can help- but I get the noise when driver door opens

I don't think that you can make safe assumptions about a pump based on its buzzing noises when running - try to stay lucky after all it is an electric motor.
