Cupra 180 and Cupra R

I got 2003 Leon Cupra 180bhp, what medifications wise is dfferent to my car and a R model?

I would like to get 250+bhp out of mine but dont want to spend too much, all I have just now is airfilter and Forge bov.

Any good advice on how I can achieve 250+bhp

Think you might struggle to get 250 bhp out of the 180 engine without spending a lot of money,

A re-map, De cat, induction kit , stainles exhaust may see you about 220 +

:-(revolutions in gateshead said would get 220bhp from remap but was insure.

is the whole engine completly different! I imagine be bigger turbo injectors ect in the R model

Have a look at peoples lc builds. Povey yellow one was fast he did a cupra r. 1/4 mile it's on YouTube some were

To achieve 220 you'll be looking at stage two remap 3" downpipe sports cat or decat front mount intercooler big filter full catback exhaust system check my readers ride for all my mods I'm running 215.7 on my cupra

I have a 180 - had engine / sump clean, no fault codes, Revo Stage 2 which is currently wound down to 210bhp and 18 psi boost. Fitting a BIG custom FMIC next wknd, then it goes back to the RR to be wound right up. With everything in, 3" downpipe, decat high flowing SS exhaust, Forced ram air induction etc etc im hoping to see near the 240bhp. Maybe a bit less, maybe a bit more - ill know soon!!

Cupra R cup racers had 250bhp - so 300 figures can be lost with driver talent, less weight and a properly set up car!

Or geta hybrid turbo for the 300bhp, or garrett GT28 for 320+!

I had a 130bhp GTTDI Golf but had remapped to 170bhp

I fitted a 4" airfilter on my car which was off my Supra about to order cat back exhaust system but they are cost an arm and a leg :-((
also looking into FMIC too

My 180 cupra was 250bhp without a bigger turbo or manifold, had good supporting mods tho.

the 180hp engine can be fitted with both the small K03 turbo just like the 150hp engine, just with a better wastegate actuator.
and the later 180hp engines can have the new little bigger K03S turbo, which is little bigger den the normal K03 and there for can handle little more power.

i have read on some other forum that 180hp cupras with K03 with stage 1 gets 195hp and the ones with K03S gets 215 from stage 1 and K03S can get 235hp from stage 2 with mods.

not sure you can get 250hp out of the K03 or the K03S, maybe if you have the K03S with all mods and Water/Methanol injection kits if you're lucky.

all leon cupras were fitted with ko3S turbos, only the golf gti variant came with th ko3. 150ps,.

245-250 will be pushing the ko3s to its limit, its doable, but not really worth it, especially sinc ethe ko4 variant, will hit 260-265 with a map,

Some leon cupra's/sports had a normal ko3 turbo, AUQ engine had the ko3s

The early sports with the APP engine code [I think thats the code, might not be] had a ko3

Dan's had a ko3, he changed it for a ko3s when he went stage2

Does your car feel any different for having 210 now?

I have a few options in my head in which I like to look into but I'll keep posted on what I'm planning or going to be doing.
