Hey guys..

I haven't even got the car yet and I'm already looking at modifications haha. I've seen a Revo downpipe and decat. I'm thinking extra bhp & a little more noise from the OE centre box back over...

I know it'll throw an EML but with an O2 spacer it should be ok.

Anyone fitted a downpipe & decat/sports car to there Cupra 280/290? If so, how does it sound etc?

Cheers!

Car will need software, MQB platform doesn't like stuff being bolted on without software.

Mine ran like a dog with OEM software.

@andrewJB so U fitted a downpipe and decat without software and it ran crap? Ahhh ok. Cheers for the heads up! And when u say 'software' are we talking a map? Can a decat be mapped into a stage 1? Or is it stage 2 only? Cheers!

Depends whos software you use, pretty sure APR,GIAC and REVO only offer "test pipes" on Stage2.

Sorry @andrewJB, so you're suggesting a decat with Revo/APR wouldn't work or be compatible unless stage 2?
What do u run your decat with.. No software? Cheers!

So how did yours 'run like a dog' then? Did u fit a downpipe and decat/sports cat BEFORE the map?

(I'm trying to clarify if you've fitted a downpipe/decat without software and have first hand experience that you can't JUST fit them without a map - if that's the case. I won't buy one till its mapped lol)

I had Stage1, then bolted on the stuff, It was then running funny, boosting strange etc. we put it back to stock and is was just as bad. Stage2 file was loaded and was fine.

Perfect clarification thanks Andrew haha. Cheers I think firstly I'll remove the box in the S bend (nearest the passenger rear wheel) (for a little more noise) and go stage 1. Then further down the line stage 2 with downpipe/decat etc cheers!

Does anyone know of a replacement pipe available to remove the 2nd silencer on the standard system?

I'd be interested in this as well jay otherwise I'll just get a fabricator to cut it out and weld in a new pipe
