My gearbox seems to have an actual fault. When I go to overtake another car, I switch from D to S, floor the throttle and go to pass the car in front. As the engine approaches the redline the gearbox doesn't seem to know what to do next and won't change up, leaving me on the limiter on the wrong side of the road, no longer accelerating. Then after a few seconds of deliberation it remembers what it was supposed to be doing, changes up and I carry on my manoeuvre. F***ing dangerous!

Could still be the same issue as I think it is related to a loose connection in the shifter mechanism. Your shifter could be sending mixed messages to the box and it gets confused for a short period. The error codes the box is generating will reveal all to the mechanics. A real PITA . Just bracing myself for the turbo issue and rear brake light problem to strike next. Shame as the car is freaking amazing.

So I need to look out for Gearbox, Turbo and cracked brake light issues :) the one I am picking up is an early one so guessing Feb as registered in March.

Ex Demo? Check everything...it will have been ragged to within an inch of its life on a cold engine.

Just had the same message on my 184 with a dsg box, could it be the same? Started car to move it on driveway got a warning as I selected drive saying apply foot brake then the gearbox warning came up, turned it off and restarted and everything was OK drives OK so wondering if this is the same fault as the Cupra is suffering, I assume the selector lever etc is the same

Yeah....that's exactly what I got . Looks like it's not just Cupra's then.

Just checked fault codes 2 found in transmission
10763 starter enabled from selector lever sensor system
10632 no communication with gear selector module
Are these the same as faults occurring with the Cupra?
