Well in one way im happy that someone else is having similar problems , helps to stop the paranoya , but on the other hand i dont want anyone to experience or go through the crap i have had and still having.
The first time i had the missfire issue which was spark plug related was in 3rd gear around 3,000 rpm , this was put down to faulty plugs (after 3 days of diagnostice work), funnily enough ngk plugs , so SEAT charged for the diagnostic work

because they were not SEAT parts , they had been in there about 4 months and done around 6,000 miles.
They were replaced with SEAT plugs and the latest missfire was in 5th or 6th gear at 60 mph i think around 2500 rpm iirc , the plugs were replaced last friday and the missfire has gone , this set of SEAT plugs lasted 5 months , i have challenged SEAT and they have told me there was nothing wrong with the plugs that were taken out but fitting new plugs fixed my missfire , oh and this is the 3rd time in a year that my plugs have had to be changed because of missfires.
why the fcuk SEAT dont listen is beyond me , the girl i spoke to at customer care told me that because non seat spark plugs have been fitted that part of my warranty is now void , i just laughed , what a joke , and thats the main sticking point to them not acting because NGK plugs were fitted to my car regardless that 2 sets of OEM SEAT spark plugs have already failed in the same year !
When i had my missfires no fault codes showed up , SEAT would not do a guided fault finding excercise because they could not claim the warranty work back from SEAT uk without a fault code , when this happens you have 3 options
1. complain until you give up.
2. put up with the
problem
3. go to an independant who cares and tries to
help
i did number 3 and now in SEATs eyes thats why my cars plugs failed , its a joke , i asked customer service what am i supposed to do then when the dealer wont look at my car when no fault code exsists and SEAT uk wont look into it because the dealer doesnt have a fault code , their reply nothing we can do , so you go to someone who cares ie an independant and then get treated badly by SEAT for trying to get your car fixed , absolute joke.
Al my advice to you will be this , reject the car , you will never be happy with it , especailly as you already had a car mapped and modded to the hilt with no problems and you will always compare it , i wish i had done the same and now regret it , i know its something you probably dont want to hear , but will save you a lot of greif in the future , take it from me its not something you want to expereince.
Im off to Revo today to see the mater tech , fantastic guy has a lot of time for people and listens to your problems and tries to
help.
