Cupra first service

Just rang up my local seat dealer to book a first service for my cupra, got quoted £173. I think this is for the major service rather than a minor one, which is £119.

Do i need the major service when the car is only 1 year old?

should save me a few quid then. are there many advantages to a major service at this stage?

My manual is in the car, but I don't think you'll need anything changing so early on other than what it requires

10k or a year is an oil and filter change and an inspection.

20k will be the same plus a pollen filter

30 is the same as a 10k

40k is the lot, plugs, air, pollen and oil.

Gutted... I'm spending so much on the car this week due to ice related damages and revo etc that it being that much cheaper makes some considerable difference lol

sounds about right! Mine was £167, it would be cheaper if i didn't ask for castrol edge tho

I was quoted £174 by one dealer and £160 by another, first claimed the high price was due to the oil used, something to do with the DPF???

Second quote was from MK SEAT, was a bit worrying when, after asking for a price for the TDi FR, he asked "is it a petrol" Then said he only had the 1.9TDi on his screen and had to ask someone.

Yeah if you have a DPF then you have to use 507 oil which is long life.

May give them a ring tomorrow, not sure how they'd react to having a non Revo map on my car though

LOL. So how is it working out for you mate, nice gains?

Can't fault it, not got figures for it yet but it's certainly no slouch. Guessing the torque is up near the 350 mark (wondering how long the clutch will last though ), and BHP around 175. Hoping to get on the rollers soon so will post some figures when I do.
