Only if its a staright drag the vxr is like a shopping trolley around the bends! Hope they compare it to the CTR as I used to own one! Think the CTR would have it though sorry!

The R26 would win. S3 second. Probably Pirellii Golf 3rd.

Would be surprised if the VXR made it above the Cupra. Without being biased, the power delivery in the Cupra is better, it has more space, better balanced chassis and stronger brakes. Let down on Cupra is dash. Standard vs standard, there should be very little in the performance of the VXR and Cupra.

If they tested the Nurburgring rather than then the VXR though, the K1 might well finish under the Nurburgring as the "burg" has a full remus and tuned suspension over the VXR, therefore faster, better sounding and better handling.

No way the "burg" would beat the R26 or S3 even though most people would not spend their hard earned on the Renault or the £10k premium on the nice interior, 4 rings and 4x4 system of the Audi over the Golf or Leon .

Having said all this, the S3 can be had in 5 door form now, and soon with the facelift and new TFSi engine. Maybe the premium is worth it after all if you went to base spec and harness the bhp in 1st gear (and 2nd in the wet)

I always equate the CTR to a smaller category of car. I appreciate its a good car, but the new version with its solid rear axle and extra weight isn't the car it used to be. The new Cupra has a much improved platform over the Cupra R it replaced, and although its heavier than the CTR it's still a very capable beast so I dispute it would beat a Cupra on anything other than a very specific circuit where absolute agility won over absolute power.
