Just tried it got £42,190.
Seems high, just ordered my new 310 st fully loaded execpt for sunroof, for 388k Swedish krona, which should be roughly 32-33k GBP. Got some serious discounts though, website price was 455k Swedish if I remember correctly.

Fully expect to get some hefty discounts but that high list price is pushing it into the premium car tax bracket. I also can’t believe that on the £40k cupra you’ve got to pay £500 for metallic paint yet the £23k Leon se gets it at no cost 🤷‍♂️

Haha, in Sweden I have to pay roughly 1000-1100 gbp in roadtax per year the first 3 Years. So you guys have it quite good, despite premium car tax :)
And yeah, the paint thing is weird, but metallic paint is usally not included by manufacturers unless its some limited time special.

What planet are they on? Golf r is less than £40k (for the hatch).
Agree the Cupra Leons are priced far too high, certainly compared to the Mk3 Cupra's but also against competitors. Not seen a road test yet of the Petrol300 model, will be interesting to see how it's rated.

The Golf R is only under £40k rrp if you stick with the free white paint and maybe 1 cheap option or black and no options. The colour choices are pathetic, limited to white, black (£625) or blue (£755).

I specced a Golf R as I would want one: Blue, DCC, Heated Front seats, 19in Estorils, Carpet mats = £41980

Oh My Days
Looking at the pricing you guys are posting is shocking.
Didn’t think they were going to be that kind of money.
The trim levels seem a joke for the Brits.
Can’t see them making the sales they need.
Not sure the Brits are that stupid.

My old Civic Type R was 16k brand spanking new in 2008.

i wish we were still in 2008 prices.

funnily enough since 2008 my wages haven’t more than doubled.... unlike car prices!

Be interesting to see how many SEAT & Cupra cars are sold in Spain, apart from the bog standard spec cars they have always been to expensive for the Spanish to buy. Especially Cupra models.

We've just had a chance to review the first one in the UK

What a great review Scott. It does look nice in that matt paint. It's unfortunate that the price is so high.

The hot hatch market is now crowded and cheaper alternatives can be had these days.

Hopefully Seat bang out some decent lease deals on it.

I can see a lot of folk hanging on to the MK3 for a while longer.

Will you guys go for it? I'm not sold on it.

I like the Idea of the new Golf R but it's silly money once you add an option or two!

The new i30N with DCT is looking interesting as they have resolved the the hard ride.

A Yaris GR anyone?

I personally was waiting for the 4 drive estate but the high price and the wheel design (slightly pathetic I know 🙈😂) have pushed me into the formentor.

I jumped from the Mk3 Leon Cupra to the Formentor VZ2. Live the Formentor (despite the issues I am having which are slowly being dealt with) but there will always be a soft spot inside me for the 300.

If they sort the UK spec and there are good lease deals I'd be interested (although not financially viable for me at the moment) - I'd be taking a petrol one in red  https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/media/wp_20210423_18_23_54_rich_li-jpg.978/ if I did though.
