Thank you for your suggestion.Might be a bit late if you’ve already ordered but I would have consider other options before placing an order with a Cupra dealer;
- Buying - car broker Drive the Deal are showing Cupra on their website as one of the car manufacturers that they offer discounted prices on. They’re listing the Raval and offering a circa 12.5% discount off list price on the V2 Launch Edition (discount includes the Govt. EV grant). PCP APR looks good too @2.9% and there’s a finance deposit contribution of £1,000 for customers who qualify for Cupra’s loyalty programme; I’m assuming this is existing Cupra owners, which you are. Discounts offered by Carwow dealers can also be quite good (sometimes better than Drive the Deal) - I’ve not looked to see if Carwow dealers are offering discounts on the Raval yet but worth checking out.
- Selling your existing car; In addition to We Buy Any Car (WBAC), car buying services that get positive mentions on forums are Motorway and Carwow. WBAC tend to be ‘less generous’ with their (usually lowball) valuations than other car buying services’ valuations. With any car buying service, always be 100% honest about your car’s condition and declare any damage / defects however small (e.g. stone chips, parking scratches and dings) so any initial indicative valuation doesn’t get knocked down when the car is viewed.
In your position, I’d get check out the valuations various car buying services websites so you can see how they compare to the dealer’s p/ex valuations; if they’re better that what the dealer is offering you, you can decide how to use them in your discussions with the dealer.If you could get a much better deal using the above options than the deal offered by your Cupra dealer, you could consider cancelling your order, although check the small print in your order documentation to see if you’d forfeit any deposit you might have paid. Alternatively, your dealer might be prepared to match - or get close to - the best broker price for a new Raval and the best car buying service valuation for your existing car.When I bought my current car (not a Cupra or any other VAG brand), I got the dealer to pretty much match the best broker price and their p/ex valuation on my existing car was close the best car buying service valuation. The dealer was also local to me and the service from them from the initial enquiry stage to car collection day and subsequent after sales servicing has been excellent.
I went and got a quote from Drive the Deal. It came up with an impressive saving on my my model ordered Raval extreme. When I read the small print at the end of the quote all the savings were the same as what my dealer offered which were metallic paint off £695 a loyalty contribution of £1000 EV Grant £1500 thousand pounds. Plus contribution towards deposit.
