Had a play with an 03 R32 the other night. Mines had CC phase one and i pulled away from him big time :) I was really suprised just how much i pulled from him. We pulled up at some lights and he asked me if my car had been mapped, I told him it was, his reply was thats f:censored:ing fast that.

I now have a 55 reg Leon Cupra R (getting mapped tomorrow). I previously had a 53 reg R32. The Leon feels faster due to turbo. The R32 feels faster due to lovely V6 noise (I had a Milltek on it). Overall I would love to try mine up against my old R32. Would be close enough.

I will update this after my remap tomorrow.

Had my LCR on rolling road today - standard apart from 4 bar FPR, K&N panel filter and Samco induction hose - 217.7bhp

Its not really a fair contest. the LCR is lighter and only drives 2 wheels, plus its had a remap. The R32 is loads heavier, and there are big transmission losses due to the 4wd, but its superb on the twisty's!!

However, you start fettling with an R32's engine and then see who wins!! A charger takes it to 300BHP+ with a decent remap, and the 4wd too! Awesome!

Take a look at the BHP figures from Awesomes rolling road R32 day at www.r32oc.com

Figures lower than I would have thought with some mods.

Charger isnt a cheap mod

I know mate, its bloody expensive, but if you can afford an R32 then you can more likely afford the SC too ;-)

I was just trying to point out that if they were both modded (properly) it would be a different story thats all.

I dunno - both cars can be taken to high bhp figures with lots of £££

I had a 53 reg R32 until just a few weeks ago and I couldnt have afforded the SC! lol

I've owned both a MK4 R32 & a MK5 R32.....A remapped LCR would take both (straight line performance)....indeed....I had the scenario of a mapped LCR toying with my MK5...cheeky B*****D !

The R32's 4 wheel drive would of course reap benefits in the twisties (with some nice sideways sliding characteristics !:D)

The one thing about the R32 though....you really know you're driving something special...my MK5 had DSG...one quick Mother through the gears !....a technological marvel of a car, although lost out a bit on the dramatic looks of the MK4.

Couldn't keep me from buying another LCR though !...

Old school all the way ![B)]
