Hi there,

This is my 03 Cupra R.

I bought it completely standard with 57k on the clock.

Since then i have taken care of a few things including a full service.

I have been trying to buy new parts for it to get it back to mint condition... consisting of new door cards, glove box lid, window switch, floor matts, esp switch.. loads more little things that were scratched and marked but i wanted to be perfect.

first thing was first and that was to get a new head unit put in.
then i decided to go for some AP coilovers which i think are great.

I went with the 20mm hubcentric spacers on the rear and gave it a healthy drop.

I really love how it sits, not much room under the arches at the front and my engine under tray is getting destroyed but i dont care lol.

Loads of plans to come with this in the shape of a remap, some chrome and black bits under the bonnet and a milltek exaust, all standard stuff for now.

some pics :)

Hi there,

Since I last posted loads of stuff has been happening.

I had the car repainted. An absolute blessing working in a body shop!!

Next up was some brand new brakes, I went with genuine parts all around apart from the front discs, For those I went with EBC grooved and drilled, Theyre okay but I still need to refurbish and rebuild my Brembos as I think one of the pistons have seized.

I have since bought loads of new parts that were either marked or a bit run down, Including a brand new genuine arm rest which was worth every penny.

My AP coilovers were on my car for around 6 months and the right front shock failed, So im currently in the process of sending them back under warranty. I ditched the coilovers and decided to buy airlift suspension...

I was struggling to find decent information about airlift so decided to buy the Airlift manual paddle kit.
Now that its on my car and ive been using it for a while I can see why everyone immediately goes for the V2 kit, This may be something I will upgrade to next year.

I wanted a nice shiny wheel that wasnt too expensive, I just thought the 3SDM 0.01 looked amazing so I had to have some, A 9.5j set up on the rear with a 8.5 on the front with 20mm spacers has got it sitting perfect on the front.

I still need to have a play around with the rears.

Here are a few images of what ive been getting up to

I hope you like it, Because I am loving it at the moment.

Tyres fitted to the wheels, I spent ages deciding which profile of tyre to go for, Luckily I am happy with how they came out!

Thanks for the nice comments guys!!

The wheels are 18's mate. There is room for me to get it down some more by rolling the arches and getting some IDF plates but im not that concerned about it. I do love how it sits already

Wow, looks brilliant. It's got a great stance. Good work. How much did the airlift kit cost + fitting? Pm me if you don't want to put it on here.

Hi there,

Thanks for the comments,

the kit was £1550 and fitting was £600.

This is for the manual paddle kit, I made a mistake buying this, I should have gone straight for the V2 kit which would have been an additional £500

Just incase your not sure on the difference like i wasnt before i bought it... The manual kit leaves you with 2 guages and 4 switches to fit somewhere in the cockpit, the gauges have 2 needles on each unit which gives you a PSI reading of each corner of the car, and you have to manually adjust the ride height with the switches.

I thought this would be fine but it looks tacky and gets annoying

V2 leaves you with just a small controller ipod looking device which has presets on it, so you would only need to press one buttom to get it sitting at a pre set ride height.

Very annoyed that i didnt go for that straight away but i struggled to find out enough information about it to justify it :/

have you got a pic of it fully up? wondering how high this kit goes. could you get a measurement from the ground to the middle of the arch or from the hub centre to the arch?
