Cupra R CD changer not working?

When i load a single CD into it, it goes up and down the stack but doesnt select the CD, then comes up "no cd" on the radio??

have you got it in face left or right? is it a copy?

I found with mine the cd wasnt straight in the magazine, it was the number 1 slot. I only noticed this when i looked when 6 cd's were in. I just 'straightened' the cd, seems to be working fine since!

i have the CD in correctly according to the magazine! and nope proper cd's it doesnt even lift the cd jus scans up and down 1-2-3-4-5-6 then stops and says "no cd"

factory CD changers are always failing, I'm waiting for a new (recon) one from SEAT for our lasses LCR

CD changer probs

Try cleaning the cd selector forks inside the changer, using methylated spirit on a cotton bud, as suggested by lots of posts.
I just cleaned mine and it now works perfectly after 2 years of putting up with it posting "no CD" errors.

mine was similar and was cartridge at fault

no offence but i've a case of deja vu reading this

Take out the cartridge and look inside to the left, the forks, which are white plastic, are just behind a wheel. I used a pair of pliars to grip a cotton bud as I couldn't quite reach with only my fingers holding it.
It's been playing all day today and hasn't missed a beat since I cleaned it yesterday.

I have the same problem with my TDI's changer. I bought a new one from eBay as it now won't even eject the magazine that holds the CDs!!!!
