Just been to look at one at a garage near me (the advert said it was a Cupra and not a Cupra R though, cos I dont actually want an R, but that's irrelevant).

I've never owned an Ibiza before, so correct me if I'm wrong but:

1) Dont Cupra R's have it stiched into the seats that they are an R? As this one had 'Seat Sport' on them.

2) It was a yellow, but the car was different shades all over. Ie roof runners, petrol cap, doors and roof had 4 different shades of yellow between them! Surely it wouldn't have faded that quickly would it? (It's a 52 plate).

I wasn't going to buy it anyway, as I dont want an R, but it seemed to me that it may have been accident repaired?

I'll leave it to your superior knowledge.....

P.S. If anyone knows of any garages with a Mk3 Cupra for sale, please PM me and let me know! Up to £7000.

yes i think they have the R on the seats not sport thats for sure, it should have red seat belts aswell, if you do a search there are lots of cupra compared to cupra R threads

1st owner SEAT UK? Lower than average mileage? Been into the wall at Rockingham?

mine is different shades of yellow on the roof, the spoiler , roof rails and top of the tailgate its just the amount of paint they use at the factory as yellows is a difficult colour to get full coverage on so some panels might have more coats on than others.
plus then theres the fading. i wouldnt have said it is accident repaired just because of that.

The front had black seatbelts, not red ones, however the back did have red ones.

The mileage is 60k, but I dont know how much the current owner (before the garage obviously) had done. It's not a million miles away from Northants, so it's a possibility.....and it did have masses of stone stips (far more than normal) on the bonnet/front bumper which would explain it. I'm putting 2 and 2 together here, with the info above, but I'm wondering if it was used as a track car by Seat UK, and therefore had bucket seats and harnesses in, hense the fact the it now has the wrong seats and belts in the front?

You sound like you may have some knowledge of this car m0rk???

what m0rk said :) as he's driven mine before i brought it at a race day!

I'm sure someone on here has all the Reg plates of the ex-SEAT demo cars...

Sounds like it's definitely a 'R' anyway, as the seats do have 'Seat Sport' stitched in them, plus red seat belts, twin gauges in the centre consoles, came with 16" OZ Superturismo wheels and Brembo brakes. :) Check to see if it has those features.
