How so Mr Apple ? ..... because your dumping one in your car and all of a sudden your opinions changed and N/A became superior ?

a forced induction car must have had some sort of appeal for you to purchase a car that came with it to begin with?

I have always had this opinion. It is fact, a well set up high powered N/a motor has far greater power delivery, has the power exactly where you need it, and all accross the rev range. Charged cars are a good cheap way to make big power, and N/A tuning is big money, and far more involved than boost tuning. I have seen it proved that two cars on a track, both with the same power, one turbo, one N/a, and the N/a car undoubtedly drove better.
The reason i bought one? i was about 19, and owning a turbo got me laid.

im sure in british touring cars theres an arguement at the minute trying to limit the turbo cars as they are beating the n/a cars every race?

My 300bhp Cupra R(stock K04) Killed a Dreamscience mapped ST And Vf30 Prodrive... Both at the same Time....

A proberly Setup Stage 2 LCR Is very very quick and Useable...

To mention is a Stock MK2 RS focus aint all that quick....I was 1 car behind one a few months back.Lovely cars all the same...

badge rivalry,

I wouldnt sweat over it, the focus st is a capable car, and to be honest wins hands down on the 5 pot burble,

Golf owners hate Leon owners, Leon owners hate ST owners, "Ricer/jap" owners hate "euro Fags" etc etc,,

there will always be something surprisingly quicker on the road than what you drive,

& theres no substitute for Cubic Capacity,

id enjoy the fact that a newer car is on par etc, ive had it with 60/11 plate cars hating the fact an 8 year old lukewarm hatch with 5 doors is still at the side,

as an example , r33/34 gts-t and gtrs are being whipped by stage one vag cars from the last 2 years, its all progression,

The turbo vs N/A thing.Like for like ie same displacement the turbo engine is generally much better. What you seem to be describing is a much larger engine vs a turbo engine as thats what you'd need to match the power.Rule of thumb is a turbo adds 70% power(s/c adds 40%).

This is the day i changed my mind about any diesel dogs of vw :p:p

A healthy boost leak free standard LCR will be on par with an ST - mine was last year with a bright orange ST-2 on the A2 to bluewater. Nothing in it!

I've never had a go against one with mine now being near 75bhp/100lb/ft more than it was back then.. But I'd be really disappointed if I couldn't dispose of a standard ST with ease. You find alot of people with standard ST's around and they should be easy pickings for anyone with a near healthy 300bhp.

I was pleased to beat was an Astra VXR Nurburgring edition in white on a dual carriageway. It had a Thorney motorsport sticker on the back so guessing tuned (can't say if mapped) but it was close 1st and 2nd, but 3rd on was mine for the taking!

You cannot base an argument, of im faster than this, this is faster than this, unless its under controlled conditions. Ragging up and overtaking a Ferrari that is doing 70 on a motorway does not make you faster than it.

My LCR is the best car ive ever bought & ive had many hot hatches in my 8 years of driving 306 gti-6 clio 172 & 182 cup MG ZR 160. And I will not have anyone bad mouth the LCR :) lol. There better than an ST, VXR, RS, CLIO 200, MEGANE 250 RS, and a Rover Metro special edition SE 1.1 Injection. End of discussion :)
