Hey guys, i have a Cupra R 2004..and my undertray undressed itself doing 'some' mph :) Now i had to pretty much destroy it and the side panels to get it off so it could be driven at all (didnt have ANY tools with me etc) :(

Question is, where do i get one? Have started looking on ebay. More importantly, what other trays fit as well?? (Golf? A3? etc etc) Need someone to confirm 100% please, as i dont want to buy something that doesnt fit!!

I have searched, and cant find anything other than people advising that it SHOULD be on! So i want it back on!

Cheers guys, Darren

Do you have any pics of the broken one mate. I have had to tighten mine after it was hanging off now it rattles like a goodun. Think some may have fell off but can't find any pics of one to compare.

Is that deff an Lcr one? I was sure when mine first started coming loose that I could see what looked like rubber or plastic cones on either side of the undertray but I can't see them in my car now :(

I'm not sure. I am sure that some part has fallen off of mine before I had the chance to tighten it.

Trublu.. I would say that is an LCR undertray in Sals link.. Mine is snapped in several bits, so wont really be able to take any pics for u sorry as its destroyed lol :( But like i said, i would say the one in the link is 100% LCR

Sal.. Thanks very much for the link, i'll keep any eye on that :) (unless Trublu buys it lol) Cheers!

Darren

Okidoki. I dunno how to stop it rattling even after tightening it and re-enforcing with cable ties. The noise is driving me mental!! Dw dude I won't buy it.

just run without one? I've not had anything fitted to mine for the last couple of years..

When i asked the dealers there are 2 different undertrays, there is the normal leon one at £65 and then there is the cupra one at £105 with a different part number.

Mine took flight at "speed" after taking a beating in the snow. Its quite amusing as if you look at most leons, golfs, skodas they mostly have this saggy undertray hanging around their ankles.

Danny i was thinking of leaving it off, but it catches on certain speed bumps now (front splitter) and i havent lowered it yet! Yes i know the sump isnt 'that' low, but just fancy that bit of 'added' protection with the undertray if anything was to catch the underside of the car!
Also i have read they are needed for stability purposes? (Yes i agree, possibly only at very very high speeds...but still) :)
And finally, since the side bits have been removed also (they attach to the undertray and sit in each wheel arch..they had to be ripped off too :( ) I noticed a small bloody leak in the footwell after i washed the car the other day!! :(
I know these cars are bad for leaks but im almost 100% this is happening as the water is just finding its way in as these side bits arent there!
Cheers, Darren

Ps- can someone confirm 100% what other trays fit (A3, Golf mk4 etc etc) and what years etc..as im going to start looking tomorrow! Cheers!

Cupra R does have different front suspension/subframe setup to other Leons, Golfs, A3 etc. so it could be different.

Stability not a problem.. I can vouch for that :)

I know what you are saying about added protection, I was using a baffled sump with a bash plate on the bottom of it, so slightly different I guess!

Leaky footwell, could be unrelated to the undertray and related to the pollen filter?

Cupra and Cupra R are different the "R" one is as per the ebay link in the fourth post by Sal, the Cupra one is half the size, side parts are different also.

Cupra R does have different front suspension/subframe setup to other Leons, Golfs, A3 etc. so it could be different.

Subframe is the same and only the wishbones and ARB links are especially different, none of this affects the undertray the difference is the connecting pipe for the twin intercoolers, which is why the side bits are different.

Not sure if this helps, but the undertray on an octavia vrs is the same as the one on a toledo 1.8 20v NA.

There's 2 - One is for diesel engines, and the other is for petrol ones. The diesel one is longer, and is there to reduce noise.

Having said that, the LCR may be different as it has the twin IC setup.

LCR undertrays are different from the rest of the leon range.
they are as rare as hens teeth,

LOADS of people drive round without one, not many stories of issues, but i do remember one with some water issues..

you will need the undertray and sides, not cheap im thinking about £160 for all 3 bits from a dealer. (get some clips too).

very hard to get hold of from a breaker, but you might be lucky.
