id have to agree with most of the above and say 8 to 9k depending on how lucky you are.

I think that 6k is stupid, for 6k in my local trader your looking at a pre-facelift cupra.

Fair enough at the top end of the market (new 55 plate cupra r's etc) the prices are dropping through the floor, but this doesnt keep happening down the price ranges, Prices level off and drop slowly. Too many people judge cars heavily on milage, id rather have a well maintained high miler than a ragged low one!

Interesting.... I read the title & said to myself '£6k, not a penny more'

9k - sorry, but only if you did 0% finance & Baldrick walked in looking for a car.

New car for 15k now, so say 50% retained value after 3yrs/30k - that's only 7.5k - which is about what you're all getting offered as part ex.. maybe a few quid more.

so treble the mileage, and although the car is good for double that people will run scared. leaving the cats to the cream (who know a good car when they see one)

hahaha, arnt we all doing a good job. Weve sucessfully managed to agree on a price somewhere between 6k and 9k. So if you take the average it's 7.5k.

Put it up for 8k, take 7.5k and then we can all be equally right!:funk:

50% of retained value was originally £18000 though! The new price has dropped recently to £15500.

3 yr old examples are privately being sold for £9-10k.

Go to a stealer/part exchange and its your own fault for being foolish! The same car will still be sold for £10000 once its been on the forecourt for a few weeks!

The cars are still worth £9-10k and that is what people are paying for them!

In this example with excess mileage you can take off another £1000-£1500

Even though prices for new ones have dropped to £15,000, dealers are still offering up to £10k px. The dealer I bought mine from admitted he had to pay £10k for one and the dealers like them and often advertise for used examples.

Doesn't work like that though does it

2001 - Leon Cupra comes out with all the kit - £17k, 3months later they reduce the price to £15k, with less kit

in 2004 - do you think the prices reflected what was a 17k cupra with kit? not a chance - all prices based on 15k

yeah but when you consider people have this month still paid 15995 for a second hand LCR, then shows anything can be sold to the right mug.

id have said 8k/8.5k - would need to look the good as new style to sell it easily with reasonable miles

and yes 96k id say as reasonable and just loosened up :)

3rd Cupra
There are hardly any 03 Cupras on autotrader for £9k, most are more than that, so stick it on for £9k, or maybe £8995 - despite the high miles, you have FSSH, these engines are rock solid, you should get £8.5k, I certainly wouldn't expect to get less than £8k.
Those talking about Glass's guides, they're all very well, but apply to prices traders will pay - stick it on trader and you'll sell to a private buyer who doesn't use Glass's.
You have to consider that an LCR is a desirable car, often with peple upgrading from smaller hot hatches (like an Ibiza Cupra), they may be in the market but only £8k to spend, so with most being £10k they'll not be able to get one, but will plump for a high mileage one for £8-£8.5k.
Get some photos up.
Oh, and that SatNav was a £2k option from new wasn't it - got to add a few quid.

Sorry if it makes you feel that little bit worse about selling yours, but I bought my 52reg LCR in November last year with 60,000 miles on it and paid... Wait for it.... £5,300 I do however consider myself rather lucky and it took me over 6months waiting and haggling to get it! I was expecting to pay more like £8,500 to £10,000 though so drove away with a rather large smile on my face! :)
