Hi everyone

Appreciate some advice I'm currently in the process of ordering a cupra st300 on lease but can't decide on standard or lux spec. The difference is around £13 per month.
Any help would be much appreciated..
Think I'm going for desire red

I chose the Lux as coming from a GTD i fancied leather.

The full list the Lux offers over the base are; (With my personal views as to why i chose it, so your views may be subjectively different :))
Wireless phone charger - not fussed, but a nice gimmick
Front sports seats in leather - coming from tartan cloth, these will be a welcome addition
Electric drivers seat - sharing a car, manually pumping the seat up/down gets boring at 6am..
KESSY (Keyless entry and go) - Useful, but with drawbacks and again an addition to the Golf i never had
Adaptive Cruise Control - Had this in my GTD, i use it often on motorways etc and also has saved my bacon once or twice. Cruise control without, in my eyes, is dangerous..
Winter Pack: Heated front seats, headlight washers, heated washer nozzels and heater washer water - Having wanted leather, during these bitter months the heated bum pads will be welcome! and the ability to squirt water in freezing conditions is useful!

I thought the addition on my Lease deal was a no brainer due to if you price a GTI up with the options you get on a Cupra plus Lux, the car soars to about £40k... so if on the right lease deal, is a steal!

Leather quality is good in my opinion.

No electric memory but seats are adjustable very well to suit my position.

At £13 a month extra I’d go for it for the Heated Seats alone. Add in the ACC and it’s a no brainier.

Only thing I’d not want is KESSY. Doesn’t interest me one bit and depending on the area you live in could be quite a bad thing imo.

I changed my order to a Lux which is due for the 19 plate change in March - only cost £7 more per month!

I am on a 6 + 23 @ £226 plus VAT - I get half the VAT back as I am VAT registered.

How many miles is that on? Which lease company?

I have the winter pack in my FR ST.. I have just topped up the washer bottle with 75% washer fluid 25% water and the washer jets still freeze!! Couldn't clear my screen at 6am yesterday or today

Really? Odd, even in my GTD currently i can pretty much use my wash straight away, although today it froze on contact so was a bad move!

Can you guys explain to me why you think Kessy is not a good thing?
The relay attacks can be avoided if you just store your keys in a Faraday cage while you are home.
From a practicality point of view, it is much better, specially in cold Finnish weather.

A faraday cage at home will help, however i know of a few people who have had their cars stolen while at the gym/restaurants. When out and about at certain places the car can be vulnerable and most people won't have a signal blocker with their key unless they're home.

It's a good thing in theory but IMO it's something that no one really asked for in the first place, how hard is it to just press a fob button?
Not something I would pay extra for, although I would pay extra for ACC,silly that these options cannot be bought individually now,but the lux pack idea is really a marketing device to make more money for Seat.

What figures are you basing your argument to say that "no one really asked for"?
Would be interesting to see them to understand the far reach of this anti-Kessy protest.
As to how hard it is to press a fob button, I will illustrate with a concrete experience from Finland in winter time with -20 temperature.

Without Kessy:
- Walk to car
- Search for key in pocket with glove on
- Remove glove cause you cannot find the damn key with it on. (Mind that you cannot use the pant pockets because otherwise you need to open the jacket to get to them)
- ...if you were lucky to actually fish said key out of pocket with glove on, realize it is hard to push button and proceed to remove glove
- open door
- sit in car and bend/fiddle around trying to find the keyhole
- turn key and go

With Kessy:
- Walk to car
- Open door in one motion
- Still down, tap a button and drive away

You seriously are defending that a traditional key is just as practical? :)
Obviously, you have never lived with a car with Kessy.

Where I do agree with you is that it is rubbish that Seat bundles options and don't really let you customize what you want or do not want on the car, but I suspect this is all to do with WLTP

You are over-analysing it,my friend.
I had a Civic type R with keyless and never noticed any great benefit and, coming back to a Cupra with a key, never noticed any great hardship.
...but I don't live in Finland.
