Hi guys,

I am normally found on the Mk2 section but I am on here to ask a question for my mate.

He has an 04 Leon Cupra TDI and it is slightly modified by way of larger injectors, remap and a straight pipe.

He is having continuous problems with keeping boost pipes from blowing out at the joints as the standard clips are crap. He has tried cable ties but to no avail they just keep breaking over time as well.

Has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks in advance.

long story short, my main pipe blew off at both ends.
i replaced the pipe and the clips, problem solved

1st it blew off at the top, cracked it and took the clip with it. i swapped the clip from somewhere else and that held it, as the crack wasn't anything serious.
however, it then blew off at the bottom so i just replaced the whole lot

the top only blew off once or twice, and i fixed it after the bottom came off.

your mate must have too much power! :p

I used T bolt clamps on my intercooler pipes they offer 20 times more clamping pressure than a crappy jubilee, could be worth a try.

check the lugs on metal part of pipes if there worn they'll need replacing, if ok can just replace the sping clips

would have suggested the same as further u use mikalor clamps.
much better than jubilee clips, they are dearer however
