I wondered the same (about 4wd) but looking at the pics again on all three you can see some snow being thrown up from the front wheels, like they're spinning a little (good man). If was haldex it would've put (some of) the power to the rear?

The snow stuck to the rear to me is sign that it's not 4wd - if it was the snow would've been thrown clear and not get chance to stick? Otherwise, there would be the same amount stuck to the front?

Notice all the question marks in the last few sentances.
I think it's sat lower at the back because yer man it giving it some berries.

Sorry to put a dampener on the 4x4 idea but the brake set up is wrong for a 4x4. Most 4x4 cars have the calliper set to the rear of the disk for optimum braking.

I can't see why calliper location has a bearing on efficiency

my car has the callipers at the back, does that mean it has 4wd?

I agree - Position of caliper makes absolutely no difference to braking efficiency (other than in some circumstances to take advantage of cooling ducts).

If it's not 4WD - why be testing it in these conditions? - I appreciate they would probably be doing it as well if it was fwd, but may be a clue.

Plus, from what I understand most test drivers, whilst consummate professionals, probably enjoy sliding it around as much as the next pertrolhead.

Everyone can hypothesize and thats fun , but we won't know until later in the year and they actually start revealing some info about it.

I would not hold your breath or get excited about a 4WD version, as its simply conjecture at the moment.

In this photo it looks like it's to one side? (Though may be angle of the photograph).
Personally, still don't like the front or the grille its too big, bland in its present shape, love the rear though!

Compare most 4x4's to FWD's and you will see MOST (thats not all!) hav the caliper set to the rear of the hub rather than the front

im sure loads of you will change your mind on the new cupra when the finished article is released......i saw a silver leon sport on the road the other day and it looked sexy....the cupra will look fab mark my words...it will look miles better than the asbo (not difficult) and the civic typr r (civics are horrible).......the mk1 leon looks good yes but is so out of date at the same time...roll on august

I reckon that's the FR - same front end mods as the Altea FR - firmly believe the Cupra will have exhausts positioned like the R32 and also have a chunkier bodykit.
