Parked car outside work tonight and one of the guys who shunts buses shunted one into my car :( could have been worse but my O/S wheel arch is scraped and slightly dented and the metal has been gouged a little

anyone any ideas as to how much it would cost to get panel beaten back out and filled and painted?

Im gutted :(

why not get a new wing and get it painted , shouldnt cost no more than £150 all in i would of thought , or try getting one the same colour as yours from a scrappy or summat ,

Yeah ill need to look at the options, pretty peed off as work won't pay for it because i was parked in a place where i want supposed to be. The guy saw the car before he hit it as well!!!

Theres a panel beater at work, ill see what if anything he can do then it'll have to be a new wing if nothing can be done. Any ideas as to where is the best place to get replacement wing?

Surely you can claim off the other guys insurance? Dosnt matter where you were parked, he hit your car, end of.

Indeed. My Dad was parked on double yellows in a bus station in my old car and got hit by a bus that had miles of room. Blatently did it to make a point as the bus was fine. As my Dad was parked with the handbrake on the insurance paid out in his favour as the driver hit a stationary object. Worth a go imo, depending on your excess etc.

Private Property I assume... eg: tough luck

Wings are best from dealers rather than pattern parts.

getting one from a scrappie is a plan, but they're awkward to get off well

I was parked in the depot so i was on private property but the work have told me to get a price on a wing today and they'll do the work. I bet the dealers aint cheap too :) my mate works for a car parts supplier and he is going to price the wing and paint etc etc.

He told me the last one he priced was an audi wing and that was £50 so it aint to bad if its around that price range, i just hope it blends in.

What are the wings like for getting off? i had a quick look tonight but its dark so i'm still none the wiser. Is it just a case of bolts on and off?

Surely that dosnt matter? If your right, that really sucks. I mean what if you were parked in works car park and somone hit your car with such force that it was written off.

Tough titties I believe.

Most insurance covers you only on the highway.

it's good that your firm is paying out though.

yeah at least they are paying for it. Im just Toiling to get a wing :)

Someone told me that all mkIII Ibiza wings are the same, is this right?
I hate getting shafted at the dealers when i can get it done cheaper myself

if your work is going to pay just take it to seat and say 'i want that sorted'...

lol maybe not.. think you should look at the price new though as cant be that much ?

had a quick look on ebay but theres nothing yet :) i actually had someone from a body shop look at it and he reckoned it could just get pushed back out, sanded down and repainted. bet the paint aint cheap though lol.

Now i look at it i have been bloody lucky :)

Got a couple of quotes for a wing today. From dealers it was £97 + vat and from a car parts company that my mate works for are giving my mate discount so i'm getting wing for £48 + vat. obviously my mate is the cheaer option but i am just worried there may be slight differences in fitment etc...

Anyone any ideas?
