AE shock..... Civic wins
was that a standard Cupra or the Sub 8 spec one?
How come it had silver mirror casings...... and the ride looked a bit stiff on the Honda..... think I'd still go for the Leon, its real world driving that's required not how fast round a track ALL the time!

yeah that suspension was clearly in rock hard mode on the civic. impressive but wow, i thought cupra mode could be firm haha

Would the DSG make up 0.4 of a second.

I am now coming up to 58 years old so I think the Cupra is the best car out of the 3 for me, if I was 17 again and I could afford a typr R, I might go for One.

Do your order a type R from a Honda dealer or Halfords.

I think it was a Standard Cupra no side skirts and standard Cupra wheels

Civic looks freakin awful. Beats an orange Focus ST in the chav stakes, hands down.

I'm all for hot hatches standing out from their lesser spec'd/powered brethren but it looks like every possible aftermarket exterior accessory from eBay has been bolted on to it.

That sub 8 minute benchmark around the Nurburgring is probs spoiling a lot of future hot hatches, you still need to live with the thing! The ride in the Civic looks very hardcore.

Is this a bit of a clanger dropped by Honda then? The only people who can afford to buy and run the new type R aren't going to like it as the styling is too extreme. Sales will tell....

I know i looked at one and discounted it (before i knew how hard the ride would be) purely due to the amount of stick i would get from my mates at my age!!

I'm(we) are pushing 58, but I will go test the civic when it's launched although the fact it's two door rather than 4-we need back doors for the real oldies in the family- puts me off a bit, as for the looks, well, if you gonna own a hot hatch it may as well stand out from the crowd, wonder what Mugen has in store for it?
No real plans to spend a shed load of cash but if a deal pops up you never know, I can say it wouldn't be the Renault.
