I don't know why people rant and rave about the 4wd on the R32 and launching.

Speaking for myself, I didnt know that. You learn something new everyday :)

but if the front wheels started losing traction while on the rollers the rears would kick in :cartman:

but..........

to stop this you just pull the handbrake up a few clicks and it fools the centre lsd into thinking your parked up :p

im 99% certain they actually remove a fuse or relay (something along these lines) which disables the haldex system

i heard also this actually reduces the accuracy of the dyno result...possibly on ukmkivs regarding the 4motion/quattro cars turning up to a rolling road day....

In my experience the Ibiza should do the R32 on a 1/4 mile. Ran against a couple and seen a few run, none were that quick but all standard, running around 14.6s.

I had a bit of fun with one a while back from a rolling start. In gear we were pretty much neck and neck until the top end of 4th gear, the V6 had more top end grunt.

A guy i know recently got a mk5 R32. The ugly one. But anyway... bumped into him last night on a dual carriageway.

I asked "so how does it go?", he replied with "faster than that", so i said "show me".

Was a rolling start from about 30mph in 2nd gear, and i pulled away through 2nd, and was even in 3rd. He was not best pleased after spending 26k and not being able to get past :cartman:

No doubt given a long enough stretch of road he would have passed me, that thing would trundle all the way up to 155mph with ease. But was amusing all the same.
