Due to the Heat soak from the intake, i have decided to create a DIY shield, and maybe if it goes well maybe offer them for buyers?

So after seeing Smee's cardboard layout thought i would give it ago myself.

So here is result bear in mind this is just the template. finished item will either be made out of carbon twill or sheet Ali.

may make it so it succks the air from the grille into the intake?

and will protect the tops with edging trim.

This will be made over the next week so will update this every time i can.

why dont people just add the CAI link pipe and move it further down behind the bumper?
obviously, not during our wet season though.

interesting to see what you do with this, and some places charge silly money for them!

i was thinking of replacing my filter cone with a BMC fully enclosed filter but i think this is the cheap and cheerful way about it.

i still cant work out why it has the awkward cut out on it im guessing its to allow access to something when you fold it over but god knows lol

i could do that easily but i want to be able to build this car and it work better than jut buying parts.

Anyone can do that....

Smee looking at the pics above the cutout looks like it will be avoiding the fuse box cover?

i have been through this mate already , just not had time to fabricate it yet.

is yours a facelift ?
on the pre facelift there is a lot of air that comes from the front under the car so i wont be boxing the bottom in on mine ;)

mine is pre-facelift, and is there is that coming from the whole behind the headlight?

And if things go well i will be doing mine this weekend.

what metal are you using?

4mm aluminium , got all the edging strip and everything just too busy to make it
