FabiaTDi It was good to see your misses   sorry i mean you on Friday at Allards. You plan to go back to get your map tweaked again ?

Hehe shes very understanding mods wise thank god :D

Car going back for more tweaking soon as there is more power to be had. Lloyd needs to spend more time on it and needs it for a few days being the perfectionist he is when it comes to these things!

Your motor is pretty quick btw!

do you mean get a hybrid turbo along with an uprated clutch?

Im not sure how reliable the turbo's are but have heard a few stories of blown turbo's

The max power available will be around 230bhp as thats the injectors maxed out.

Have you already upgraded your brakes and suspension to cope with the extra power?

What other mods have you got...

You can go as far as +270bhp with the "right" mods keeping the stock pd injectors fitted. I can post a rr graph of such an Ibiza TDI130. :)

 and i dont think your name is Lloyd allard either, so why have his race car

FIY, Allard's Golf was a race car that won the portuguese diesel championship cup back in 02.
So mate, I've been following that car's achievements on the track for quite a while now... [B)]

About the promised beezer rr graph:

Power: 276.9 bhp @ 4042RPM (~260bhp @ 5000RPM)
Torque: 535.5Nm (395ft-lbs) @ 2757RPM

Mods:

- (Really) big blower
- Modified cams
- Large bore exhaust
- Ibiza Cupra TDI IC
- Reinforced clutch
- Extra fuel and oil coolers
- Remap (duh...)
- NO silly gasses...

Thats amazing from the standard injectors - I think I have a turbo big enough for that kind of power, just need the diesel going in.

The "secret" for these power/torque figures lies mainly in the turbo specs (a custom developed (big) turbo) and a very good remap that takes the most advantadge of it. The cams are also responsible for a fair share of the extracted ponnies .
BTW, just a few months ago, ~250bhp seemed to be the limit for stock PD injectors, but reality is that this has been proved wrong through ever improving R&D.
There's being developed at the moment a big-bore PD injectors setup.

Also another thing that should be taken into consideration is that this is a daily driver, already with siginificant milleage on it, and as such realiability has always been a fundamental issue. Therefore extra fuel and oil coolers were fitted as part of this setup.

PS - Sorry if I might have not expressed myself correctly - haven't had English lesson for quite a few years.

Very interesting & no problems with your English!
Tried to send you a PM but I cant seem to..

Maybe i should get Lloyd signed up on here tp explain what is involved in the stage 3 setup?

Fabia TDi, are you running a stand alone Vt5 with no other gas involved?

Any Idea on bhp?

Straight diesel at the moment running an estimated 210-220bhp but there is more fine tuning to be done map wise which should take it to 230 at least.

More achievable with a sports cam.

:( thought it would be more than that tbh.

I assume you get much more torque than over a the standard turbo.

Its not just about the figures - its how it delivers - this turbo will hold 2 bar of boost up until 5krpm if you want.
Its a totally different animal to a chipped PD130 for example.
A bit more fine tuning is coming soon for mine and a cam should see 250hp.

Its also capable of over 270hp with enough fuel being fed. :)

where can you get cams from?? my mate had a 1.6 16v corsa with uprated cams and it used to fly and went about 152mph (on the spedo) prob only 140is we all know what those old speedo's are like, i was a bit dissapointed when i heard my big turbo was only going to get me to about 230ish bhp and 380ish ft lb torque but Nick at jabba explained to me its not the max figures that count its the curves and sometimes the minimum figures that count more after big turbo i would really like to be seeing low 14's on the 1/4 mile concidering i ran a 15 flat and that was with a .600 reaction time. what do you guys think? how would i stand against my bro's heavily moddified golf mk4 ani which is running 260bhp (which beat 2 modded s3's and a R32 down the strip at santapod) now his car gains the power at about 2200rpm and doesn't stop untill 7400rpm thats a huge powerband in my eyes. He thinks after my turbo i will be able to cane him but i'm not to sure because although i will have alot more torque when i'm changing gear he still has anouther 3500rpm to go!!

Like FabiaTDi has said, one shouldn't look just only at peak figures, but how the torque curve is distributed over the rpms. The combination of the two translates the road performance figures.
For instance a too much torqy engine won't be any good for 1/4 mile runs or TD driving.

The current limit, without silly gasses but with all the other goodies fitted, for a stock 1.9l PD TDI is something around 300bhp, but that's without any reliability assurances, therefore of limited use.

Where are all the correction factors, gear information, temperatures. etc etc.

The test was done in 4th gear, the air temperature was around 20ºC and atmo pressure 1.000mbar (near sea level).
The power figure indicated is already corrected (DIN70020), so as you certainly know, already takes into consideration the fore mentioned temp factors.

It's a Rotronics rr: http://www.rotronics.com/uk/html/body_autoscan.html

BTW, in order to have some comparison figures, a typical remaped PD TDI150 on this rr nets around 195bhp/420Nm.
My own Golf TDI150 with a hybrid VNT17, a (bit smokey) remap and a few more tweaks measured there ~210bhp/430Nm.
