No, P0030 and P0135 are both for a fault with the front O2 sensor, which is the one before the cat. That sensor is responsable for the fueling mixture of the engine..... It's quite possible that the wiring to it was damaged when the cat was removed. That would be the first thing i would check before you go to the dealer.

Chances are if you can find the problem on that, than the EPC code might be sorted too, judging by the thread i linked you too above.

I would disconnect the battery before you start looking, just to be safe, as i've heard cases of the O2 sensors shorting out and frying the ECU at the same time.

The P0420 code, cat below threshold is related to the decat though and nothing to worry about as such.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you! The cat was removed about 2 years ago yet the EPC fault is about 6 months old, could it really take that long to make an impact? Could that also be a reason for the car completely cutting out and battery light illuminating?

Sounds to me more like fuel starvation ie bunged up filter, dirty injector or something, rather than a leaking hose.
If it was a leaking hose you'd expect it to happen reliably and progressively worse when booting it eg pulling away.

I wouldn't have thought the fuel filter would be an issue as this was changed not even 10,000 miles ago. How would you go about checking the cleanliness of an injector? Would have thought sensored injectors would throw up a code or something?

Could dodgy coil packs have any responsibility? But again surely they would throw a code up.

The battery light will come on as soon as the car stalls, as the alternator isn't turning.

As for the EPC fault, if the car won't respond to the pedal and idles at 1200rpm straight after this happens then yeah i think it's more than likely.

The O2 sensor fault is for the front one before the cat and controls the mixture so that will cause issues. Did you look to see if it's switching to "closed loop" when up to temp?

From the information you've said. Seems like the 02 sensor may have gotten progressively worse over time. I'll get the 02 sensor looked at.

Yeah, those new codes are the key..... 16706 and 16705 will be the one's making it stall mate. They are for the main sensor that determines engine speed, without that working then the enigine will stall straight away. So check the sensor and wiring to it.

Car not responding to the pedal is code 18038, two seperate faults

Thanks for the information mate.

Where would the engine speed sensor be?

No worries, it's down by the oil filter area, close to the join between the engine and gearbox from memory.
