Cutting out

Hi All I have just got myself a 2000 Ibiza 1600
It has now just started to cut out after a short while.Local garage scanned it and said the crankshaft sensor not sending the correct signal.
So I have replaced with a proper Bosch sensor. No change still cuts out and does not seem to pick the revs up very quikly.
Has anybody had this, or even better know how to fix.

get somone with vagcom on it mate i never trust my local after they scanned my car and got it badly wrong. they tryed to rip me off basicaly.

Hi Thanks for that
They didnt get it right £80 down the drain.
It does not start at all now( trys too ) What every it is has got worse.
That will teach me get a cheap motor to play with.
The quest goes on till I find the problem

Have now found autodata pin diag of ECU and have been checking sensor out puts and ECU inputs.
Did have a bad earth on ECU 56ohms ign off now only 0.2 ohms.
Still got the problem.Live to ECU good even on cranking.
Any techs out their with an idea

Coolant tremp sensor?

best bet is vag com though
