Apart from the engine code embossed on the little tab are there any differences in cylinder heads on the 1.8t family? I'm looking to buy a Ibiza Cupra cylinder head AGU code I think, and put it on my AYP engine in my Ibiza Cupra R. I will be rebuilding it with supertech stainless valves and getting it ported and polished, if this makes a difference?

ADR is also largeport that's what I have.
Followers are the same iirc but cams can varie due to some of the heads being from non turbo 20v lumps.

I dont think ADR is a large port. Thats a N/A 20vt small port.

AEB, AGU and i think one other one is AJL?

 No idea then phil, can anybody else shed any light on it? What should the inlet port size be on a large port in mm, I'll have a measure up.

ADR is largeport non turbo
AEB,AGU largeport turbo

I have run ADR on mine originally, the a couple of AGU's, and an AEB sitting on my shelf - all largeport

Might be a daft question but what are the benefits of fitting a large port head? Do you only see the benefits on bt?

Thaks Bill cleared it all up  I will probs be getting an AGU head then. :funk:

tom w At an educated guess I suppose it's to allow a higher rate of air flow both in and out of the engine.

Well people I have had a measure up of the ADR code head I have sitting here and the results are as follows:
Inlet ports measure 43mm x 22mm.
Exhaust ports measure 33mm.
Part number is 058 103 373 D.

So according to the measurements on page 12 of bill's phenolic insulator thread that makes the head a SMALLPORT not a large port as previously thought.

So I now have 2 small port heads :(

unless ADR was available in large and smallport, and thats something new to me, the ADR head i ran was largeport with 55mm wide ports

That is a thought that crossed my mind Bill maybe ADR was the head in production when vw/audi started to play with port sizes so in turn there is some of each in that code .

Any idea what the part number was on your ADR Bill?

The ADR i have was from a friend who runs a specialist vw/audi brakers yard so i only gave peanuts for it, but i'm sure he had another ADR head there if not two more, next time i'm over there i'll have a look and a little measure up if there still there.
