just fitted a n75j and a upgraded recirculating d.v. on my 180 leon lc .
problem is on hard acceleration the dump valve want to open a close all the time.
put the stiffer spring in seemed no difference.
changed the n75 and d.v because was having previous problems with boost.
got boost back now cars rapid when it ain't got this d.v. problem.. .......any ideas......

fault code . 17963 over boost intermittent

yeah it optional one ment to smooth it out and give bit more power aint much more in price either

looked for leak as i though this was original problem i had cant find one anywhere

What make dv have you fitted cos i fitted a Forge 007p a couple of months ago, as a direct replacement and not had any prob's at all.

one on ebay a bloke selling . a lot of people from club gti been using them and are saying there good looks identical to the forge one. three springs with it

Yes i know the one you mean, I nearly got one form him but i emailed him asking several questions and didn't get a reply, so bought the forge one instead.

Have you treid the strongest of the spring's, and does it still have the fault.

got strongest one in now. only other thing i thought of is the vacuum hose on top had to reach a little further doesnt look kinked but could be narrow inside

yeah thats the one. surely if its overboost i havnt got a boost leak

Yeah it was a bit of a streatch to the top vac hose on my forge one also, but it seems ok, think your prob is elsewhere tbh, matey, maybe n75 is at fault.

Probably thre best person to speak to is Longman, (Rob) he's good with the vag-com stuff.

fitting it killed all rest of problems prob got load more with it. may put standard dv back on see if does it with that

thats probably the best way forward if you can eliminate the dv as the problem, then go from there...

Good luck...

No problems matey, yes do... i'd be interested in hearing how the n75j has or if improved things over the stock one, when you get it sorted...

right been playing about with it. ended up going to the softer spring in the d.v. went out had a proper ragging session with it for few mile. cut out once a little bit turning down a juction in second gear but power came back again quick. think bascially the overboosting causing it to go into limp mode for split second

The intermittent overboost is from the N75 I reckon. As its says in the first link, it delays the signal interpritation for the actuator in the wastgate. If the gate opens slower, it will allow more boost before its fully open....

Have you tried a standard N75 with that DV? i would reccomend it mate. I have heard mixed views about the N75J.

yeah had original n75 on car before with the dv and was ok but car was slow think the n75 was main problem . basically i think i need to get a new normal n75 another 50 quid to shed out

I would think the N75s faulty. I had a couple of identical version ones that just were not working corrcetly before getting one that worked right.
