Had an incident with a pheasant at 'some' miles an hour. Shall be requiring a new/used cupra near side (passanger) front wing. Could some 1 point me in the rite direction?

thankyou

Ouch! Bad luck m8

Collisions with animals is no fun thing :(

Spoke to a chap the other week after seeing his mangled Peugot......he hit a deer, the deer didnt make it and his car certainly looked like it needed a new front end.....And it was about the 4th deer he'd hit!! He mentioned one that flew up into the air and rolled over the car, only to land and run off

Worst was a girlfriend who hit a HORSE while driving her bosses Lexus at night, the car was a write off!! Wierd thing was, the horse was already dead from being hit by another car.

Worst I've hit has been a sparrow type bird, still scratched thru my bonnets paintwork

The VW Wayside bodyshop here (Based in Milton Keynes) is excellent for stuff like that - they did some excellent work on my black FR when it had it's parking 'incident'. They deliver parts for all VAG cars anywhere and everywhere, and are cheaper than a steeler - that is, if you can find a Seat dealer with a bodyshop.

Give them a call on 01908 270787 - they will get you the part, and ship it, then you can have it painted somewhere locally.

Their address is:
Wayside Bodyshop, Lyon Rd, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, MK1 1EX

If thats not an option, flick thru the back pages of car magazines for breakers - Give a few a call and see, you might even find one in the same colour!

The worst animal i've ever hit was a pigeon. A week later I was still finding feathers in the grille! Good luck m8 :)

thanks fellas, are all wings on all models the same? i'v seen a 1.2 wing (black) at a breakers near me would that fit my cupra? would it be able to be sprayed emocion red ok?

i was going 40mph through a DARK country road last night as i had a bad feeling about going fast and low and behold it on a nasty bend there was a deer in the middle of the road eating grass at the side of the road with his arse in the road :scary: if i was going anyfaster i would have had to make an amazing sideways dodge or hit it! ive repaired many of road kil cars and picking furr feathers out of cars isnt fun and also they do SO MUCH DAMAGE!

Just been quoted £400!!!!! to put a new front wing on/paint/labour/new wing????

who are they kidding. Does any one have the instruction for removing the wing? i'm gunna do it myself.

thankyou

Removing the wing is fairly easy,

All you need to do is remove the wheel arch to gain access to the bolts on the underside
Remove the front bumper in order to remove the bolts hidden behind it (x2)
Theres one bolt visible if you open the door (most bolts are visible)
Remove the 3 bolts in the engine bay.
Unplug the side repeater.
Then with the door open gently pull the wing away from the body, it will be held on in two places with a bit of gum so be careful not to prang any of your bodywork.

I'd personally get a wing from a scrapper and get it sprayed before putting it on the car. its a fair amount of work but well worth it in the end.

Hope this helps

To replace a wing though, it's bumper off job. You then have to remove the old wing, refit the new wing. and you also have to paint the door (well laquer over it) to get a good colour match. Then when it's all painted, put the bumper back on. I'd have thought that price is about right tbh....

thanks for the advice fellas. I'm looking for a emocion red ibiza at the scrappers if you know of any.

£400 sounds about rite? £50 new wing, £70 paint etc £280 labour . . . . . .

Thats crazy money

£400 is way too much, new wing is about 50 quid from Seat (primed),
Sprayed cash in hand job £30.
It would only take a decent garage an hour to change a wing which equates to about £40. I've personally taken a wing off in about 40 mins and i did'nt know where all the bolts were.
Then when the paints fully hardend give it a mop and the surrounding pannels and it'll look like new.
Have a look on ebay for people breaking ibizas, you might have some luck.

well i work in a body shop and the colour needs to be bleded realy specially with colours like red yellow white unless its non metalic (solid)

the wing is simple to take off basicly how allard has said to but you can get away with just releasing the bumper corner to get to the bolts behind the bumper

if you dont blend it you will be lucky iof it doesnt look like a saw thumb!

£400 is a bit steap but not far off!

rash:

Whats the best thing to do, get a new wing already primed fit it mself and get a body shop to spray it?

or find a emocion red ibiza? it's solid not metallic

cheers
