Damn exaust .. !!

Got hit by some kid in a corsa while stationary a month ago, and put the car in for repair, it been ready now for 3 weeks except there seems to be a national shortage of LCR exausts - the repair garage say they have been trying to source an exaust each day but its starting to drive me nuts - anyone else got this problem ..?

I am so sick of driving an Astra around each day !!!!

Yep, I've got the same problem, at the 20k service they found a long list of things to fix under warranty including a bracket being broken on the back box of the exhaust. Which I hadn't ever noticed or prompted them about, so I'm quite pleased I'll be gettign a new one for free.

Having said that though they are waiting to do all of the repairs in one hit, so i have now been waiting 4 weeks for them to call and say they have the exhaust in so they can fix all the other stuff as well. It's pretty annoying as the other stuff is replacing the rear suspension shocks and bushes, so it's a pretty crashy and creaky ride at the moment!

any of you thaught about a supersprint exhaust as it might get the car back quicker?

I would happily have another type of exaust on it though I doubt the third party's insurance company will pay for it - although I guess it would be cheaper than getting me to drive around in a hire car for another month.

Yep - they don't want to be paying for me in the hire car - but they say if its more than the original exaust then I would have to pay something towards it - so what is the best exaust - how much does it cost over the original exaust cost - and what is the implications on insurance .. - whats the supersprint exaust like ..?

to be totally honset im new to Cupras having owned a ford(cough) mondeo, going from past experiance at fiat were i worked a abarth punto was damaged by the workshop, the bumper went to back order and insead we replaced with one that the customer wanted, supersprint, miltek, magnex all the major brands are good Sebring are the dogs do dahs as ive had one on the for for 5 years and its still looks new

Another problem - my insurance company won't accept an exaust that increase's BHP - do all of them increase BHP ? - what are the exaust options for the LCR - I'm having a problem finding many threads on this ..

I am a touch confused, 225hp Cupra R is an engine code of BAM? By my reckoning the middle exhaust is 1ML 253 409 A and rear exhaust 1ML 253 609 A.

I have checked and SEAT UK are holding both of these in stock.

Of course I may be guessing the car wrong !!
