The names Tom mate, no probs, its understandable, and a nice idea to know the local members by their names!
Hope you get it sorted mate, if i even thought i'd be of any help i'd lend a hand, but i have no idea at all!

i was told you cant get the clutch pedal off without removing the whole pedal box, this was from the forums, so i welded in place. The Circlip on the end of the bar, doesnt do much use, you cant get the pedal off even if you tried, you have to take clutch master cylinder out, or at least release the fluid so you can push the rod back, good luck pushing it by hand :)

well whoever told you that speaks the language of bollox, Ive fixed 2 mk3 ibiza's by using the principle in my link

Mine did the exact same on tuesday and found that it was a very easy job to fix, brand new pedal only cost me £27 inc the white clip then i replaced them both in 15mins by slidding the bar accross and removing the old one and replacing with the new one, very easy

Nope im not a mechanic, it really is an easy job, the hardest bit was getting the spring in again, but even that only took 5mins, the car is now back to its former self :D

nice one DeeJay, if i find the person ill name and shame them :)

I admit, i didnt attempt it so just welded it in place!

no not yet mate, hopefully being sorted today by my two uncles who are popping round my house later to take a look, im stuck in work though which doesnt help :( cant wait for Grant to re-open too as im desperate for REVO now lol

yea just slacking the master cylinder off push the new white clip in and weld it in the car to bout twenty mins todo mine mate.
Thing is if you just buy a new peddle box like some people do it will happen again.

yeah thats why i havent bothered just buying a new pedal, not worth the hassle to be honest, hopefully it'll all be sorted for me by tonite so I can pop down and see Grant in the morning :D

i had this problem on the Mk2 vwhen i bought it,.. ( the fella i bought it off thought the gearbox was knackered?!?!!?!!.. so got it for a song..).. all i did was drilled thru both plates fitted a bolt and sta-lok nut on , and its been happy as larry for over twelve months now.....

bit of a bodge isnt it? wouldnt you hear the rod from the clutch master cylinder rubbing on the thread of the bolt?

Brummy I did that to get me to work for a day or two until I could book it in.
I was worried about knackering the cylinder tho, with the clip on the end of the rod it allows for a bit of movement being ball and socket arrangement if you like. Where as with the bolt it obv doesnt.

davidol , nope Daz.. as said in my earlier post ... its been like that now for over twelve months and works fine.. in fact from what ive heard /read in here and other forums.. i think a bolt arrangement is the better alternative..

nah i dont think so bud, i got no cash for that just the code i think and go av some fun then

7days till loan comes out and i got 30quid and a full tank  its gonna be a hard week

I'll be going down for the full code in the morning, already had the trial! acidstrato u've got PM, Daz Pop down in the morning mate, mini meet lol!

right update from the oleary household, my uncles got the pedal out and has taken it to be welded however my other uncle has gone out and so cant weld it until tomorrow so the cars not going to be reasembled until tomorrow evening but if anyone wants to pick me up for the blast down to Grants I wont say no ;)
