Have you been do a VW dealer to get a quote to fit cruise? Quite a lot of dealers quote circa £150 to supply and fit CC to the mk5..

I haven't. Just presumed it'd be through the roof so not even thought of it tbh!

Not sure what its like on the Furby but on the Golf its very simple, Select the Engine then go into long coding and tick the box to tell it that it now has cruise, then go into the steering wheel long coding and select the right options that you have. Job done
